Is Selena’s music video Back To You actually about Abel? An Abelena thread
So let’s look past the fact that in the beginning Selena is seen with two men (white/black) next to her while looking at another white male across the room. This can serve as a decoy & the white male across the way could actually represent Abel (not JB).
If you’ve read my threads before, you’d know too that Abel used a black female to represent Selena in his In Your Eyes MV. These two are clever to say the least.
So as you’ve seen, Selena is in a “crowded room” where only one guy catches her eye across the room in the MV. Both Abel and Selena have referenced the terms “crowded room” in their music to indicate a potential connection between the two.
It is rumored that Selena and Abel actually met each other at the after party at the VMAs in August 2015. Was this their crowded room? Their history must have started somewhere, right? We might never know.
Okay, so then in the MV, Selena decides to take a leap of faith to have “fun” with this guy. Notice how her track Fun can apply to this scenerio, which has also been tied to Abel in the past since their 10 month relationship was often seen as “fling” by fans.
Notice the car they steal is red? *hint hint.* A red car has also been used in Abel’s music video in his most recent music era. It can symbolize a relationship, which I’ve mentioned in my threads before, specifically here. https://twitter.com/talixlov3/status/1300167668603867136
There comes a point in the MV where the guy asks Selena where they should go. Interestingly, the first three countries are actually places Abel and Selena have been to together. Maybe Russia and Michigan were other intended trips before the break up?
There’s a part in the video where the guy changes the radio station and Selena doesn’t like it, probably to show the typical disagreements in a relationship. In addition, the video shows Selena’s different emotions probably while in the relationship.
If you see this part here, Selena is all excited while the male is more calm and collected and not as involved.
In Abel’s music he actually describes himself as more cold in relationships and how he wasnt there for a girl like he should have, which probably led to their break up, and which he’s sorry about later on.
In this part here, Selena takes a picture of the guy using a Polaroid camera. If you know Selena at all, you’d know she loves her Polaroid pictures. She also carried it on her shoulder when she took Abel to the Harper’s BAZAAR event in 2017.
There’s even this moment where the guy is seen filming Selena. Both Abel and Selena had their way of showing each other’s admiration through the lens.
Brief pause here to acknowledge this part with the apples around Selena and the guy biting into one, *hint hint* the forbidden fruit. So yeah, you can guess what they actually did here.
Moving on, there’s this part here in the video where she sings the following. This could indicate that although she was with JB, she probably might have thought of Abel while she was with him. This is controversial, I know, but it’s still possible.
Two things about this here. One, Abel is a huge gamer and he’s actually been connected to Grand Theft Auto before, and two, her not wanting to go to jail probably represents Selena’s insecurities about their relationship, explained in the next tweet.
Selena and the guy go back & forth about the car (the relationship), due to her insecurities about his commitment (the infidelity book) that at the end Selena compulsively just ends the feud with burning the car. Her going back to JB can represent that final burn.
Selena then finds herself at the party again, to then just wanting to do it all over again. Maybe the potential for Abel and Selena to be back was always there and now they are. Just look at his lyrics, and all my Abelena threads 😏
One more thing, notice the daisy?
