Srila Prabhupad & his gift of Krishna Consciousness to society
His divine grace A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad – The founder Acharya of ISKCON : Most amazing, humble and magnificent personality who preached Krishna Consciousness all over the globe in mere 12 years span !

In mere 12 years span of time by establishing 108 temples around and making people happy by Harinaam Sankirana ! Isnt this something very amazing ? Srila Prabhupad did this ! @VipinKmSahu @Dheer_Sameer

We always keep on reading threads on communism and leftists and political posts but we forget to appreciate and follow the footsteps of such great personalities like Srila Prabhupad who has given the real gift of Krishna Consciousness to everyone.

Srila A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad was not personality of this world. He appeared just on the next day of Janmasthami in 1896 ( 1st Sep 1896 ) – the very day of Nandotsava, where Nanda Maharaj did celebrations as Krishna appeared in their home in Gokul.

Place where Srila Prabhupad appeared : Tollygunge Calcutta ! His father Gaur Mohan Dey and Mother Rajani Devi Dey belonged to typical Gaudiya Vaishnava Family and they imbibed the very Krishna consciousness in their little son to whom they named ‘Abhay Charan’

His parents used to worship Sri Sri Radha Govind at their home in Calcutta and he would watch how his parents worshipped the Lord. In childhood itself Abhay would have Ratha-yatra of Lord Jagannath in his courtyard and he would call his friends to attend the ratha yatra

After doing his basic schooling at Muttilal School in Central Calcutta, he did his graduation in Scottish Church College. Further his mother passed away, he joined freedom movement while he was studying.

A Magic turn in his life – Abhay Babu at the age of 26 meeting with his Guru H.D.G Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur at Ultadanga Junction Road , Calcutta ! His spiritual master instructed him to turn into English speaker and preach Krishna Consciousness all over the world !

On being challenged by Abhay Babu that Let India become free , Srila Siddhanta Saraswati said – ‘ Krishna consciousness doesn’t wait for any change’ and that was a impact on life of Abhay Babu.

Later Abhay Babu went to Prayag to start Prayag Pharmacy and in due course of time in 1933, his guru Srila Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur gave him Diksha with the new name as ‘Abhay Charanarvinda Das’ and asked him to preach Krishna Consciousness.

At Radha Kund, in Vrindavan, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur ordered him to print books whenever he gets money. Before leaving, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur asked Abhay to preach to the English speaking world. Abhay immediately understood the very aim of his life

In 1944, Abhay began the magazine – Back to Godhead. Then he wrote some commentaries in English which were stolen and some of them were sold by his wife, which to Abhay indicated about the end of family life. In 1953 he took vanaprasthi, in order to fulfil the wish of his guru.

He began to translating the vedic shastras in English. He did translation of Bhagavad Gita. He went to Vrindavan dham and began to translate 1st canto of Srimad Bhagavatam.

A sanyasi is respected in every feature. In 1959 at Mathura finally Abhay Babu took Sanyas with the name – HDG A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami. From 1959 to 1965 he wrote commentaries on 1st, 2nd and 3rd canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. In 1965, he got them printed as well from Sumati Morarji

Now beginning with big one – a point in his life which brought revolution of Spirituality around the globe ~ Journey to USA in 1965. After requests to Sumati Morarji, finally he made preparations to move out of india

Following the very orders of his Guru – ‘ preach Krishna consciousness to English speaking world’ and also he had translations & books printed. Readers please hold nerves ! Spiritual revolution about to begin ! @Dheer_Sameer @VipinKmSahu

So the day arrived : 13-Aug-1965 ! Srila Prabhupad with blessings of his guru and acharyas in Gaudiya Vaishnava Lineage boarded Jaladuta Cargo ship at Kiddarpore Port , Calcutta to set out to USA ! 3 massive heart attacks and body pains he had while crossing the ocean.

With mere 40 Rupees he arrived in USA at the house of Gopal Agrawal at Pennsylvania

He was struggling to preach in New York, USA preaching about Krishna Consciousness. With some followers he registered the name of society in New York - ISKCON - International Society for Krishna Consciousness !
Year 1966

ISKCON Began to expand exponentially. Srila A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami was started to been to be addressed as Srila A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad by his disciples.

Across the globe in all continents – Asia, North America , South America, Australia , Africa he reached ! In India , he brought back the very forgotten culture back to its origin. As Indians saw White people dancing to the Harinaam Sankirtana, Indians began to take Krishna Bhakti

He wrote more than 80 books filled with Krishna Consciousness, no one has done this feat till date !

He began Harinaam Sankirtana with complete Magnanimity – as desired by Lord Chaitanya , all acharyas in Gaudiya Vaishnava lineage … only those who are truly associates of Lord can accomplish such feat

He started Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath which he used to do in his childhood in major cities of globe

He began deity worship in most munificent and shastric way in all the 108 temples he established all over the globe

He gave the very Hare Krishna Mahamantra to world where by every one could live happily while chanting the mahamantra

He started pure Prasad, one who eats such pure sanctified Prasad is sure to get bhakti for Krishna

He re-introduced the very vedic culture … He came as Saviour for the world

He Built a home named ‘ISKCON’ where whole world could live happily.

Instead of worshipping those who really don’t deserve your worship, it is always better to worship and pray to such personalities like H.D.G A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad who has given real gift of Krishna Consciousness to the world.

Physically he may not be present, but his disciples are, who can be accepted as Gurus. His teachings can be easily followed by the books he has written which are enthused with Devotional service to Krishna !
