Imagine saying this to a Black person. I was doing what now? https://twitter.com/fistenergy/status/1318676214740115457
To be clear, the point I have made repeatedly is that people who have it worst need to be secure and by knowingly betting on the horse with broken legs when betting on a viable one is an option, when winning the race could help, is not helpful or moral.
It’s back to that old “Black South Carolina voters are low information” bullshit. No, they’re voting for what they think people will support based on actually knowing the people around them and not just yelling platitudes on the bird app.
I don’t think Black people are standing in the way of everybody getting healthcare and education and housing. I would wager that 13ish% of the population isn’t the reason that’s failing. Maybe yelling about ranked choice voting two weeks before the election isn’t the answer.
There are children in cages. I’d love to hear about ranked choice voting the moment after we get rid of the guy who lost their parents gets voted out. Your diplomacy plan sounds really appetizing, it’s just not on this menu.
We can move closer to our goals or we can move further from our goals. There’s not a third option. You’re not mad at me, you’re mad at that reality, and you’re not gonna be punishing just me, so I’m not moved by the spite vote messages. It just makes you look like a dick.
Like I’m voting for Biden because I think people with nonviolent felony convictions should still be allowed to vote. They can’t vote. Writing in Mickey Mouse won’t get them the right to vote again. My good intentions or moral code don’t matter if I’m not doing what I can to help.
