2/9... Sanjay Matta was closely related to Mr Puri’s family, frm his wife’s side. An ace Food expert and food historian, he shuttled between Pune n Ahmedabad and had applied for an Unsecure Business Loan ( BL ) through Vejalpur branch of @HDFC_Bank in Ahmedabad somewhere in 2013

3/9,one local Cluster Head, Manoj Mistry was frantically pushing for disbursement of his Loan, citing applicant close relationship with Mr Puri’s family, Gorretti Soares Secretary of #adityapuri at Bank House, was closely monitoring this case and instructed the same on mail also.

4/9...the loan was disbursed finally by local Credit team after due deliberations and the Credit Manager, one Chitral Shah had clearly mentioned in the Credit Appraisal Memo ( CAM ) about the follow up from MD’s office for this loan, which is still today in the archives of LOS.

5/9..Sanjay Matta again in Feb 2014, applied for an enhancement of the Loan, and his request was approved and disbursed for another 25 lacs basis his new financials. Unfortunately Mr Matta expired while travelling outside Ahmedabad on 6th April 2014, of which Bank was not aware..

6/9..After few months Bank recovery team did a soft follow-up and one officer Vijay Patel was send to his resident in Azad Society of the city. The furious family complained to Mr Puri’s office and the Collection team was strictly “ advised “ not to go further to his resident..

7/9..MD office again interfered n no further Collection / recovery was done and the whole amount of 35 lacs was quietly written-off after 150 days. One Pranesh Rao the then RCH wrote to Ms Gorretti and file of Late Sanjay Matta was buried quietly, with bank taking the 35 lacs hit

8/8...this case of Late Sanjay Matta, clear cut demonstrates about the interference of outgoing MD #adityapuri in a Credit decision, contradicting his own statement of July 9 2019 that “ Friendship and Banking are not co-related “ ( probably Family and Banking are co-related )
