AOC doing this stream is legitimately so smart here is why: thread
First, it humanizes her. We don& #39;t usually have connection this direct with bigger political names, we see them as these people above us who just make decisions about things and do law stuff and we don& #39;t really see them as. Regular people, and this really helps AOC seem more like
someone we can just chat with, hang out with, and makes her seem far more human and more /regular/
Second, it shows she& #39;s thinking about us. SO many people in politics are old and don& #39;t understand or put any stock in digital communications and new media like streaming, youtube, online influencers etc. and this shows that AOC is at least aware of this and is more in touch with
what younger people are interested in, what they care about and also shows that she can navigate a digital space, which is so incredibly important and something we& #39;ve been wanting out of politicians for years now, because with how much it& #39;s grown the government absolutely HAS to
pay it some mind. Like I& #39;m not saying I want them to regulate shit, but it& #39;s already such an important facet of our social space, our economy and political cycle, and it& #39;s so so important for the people representing us to be aware of the same things we are and be on the same page
