A thread to those who refuse to vote:
years ago I would have refused to vote... out of principle, refusing to participate in this bullshit system. I was smug and emotional. I refused to be a part of the system. However, we need to understand some things...
Allowing Trump to win could be devastating to minorities, the poor, etc. He'll be able to stack the supreme court with 7 psycho conservative judges (vs 2 liberal ones). He has actively worked to harm the environment. He tried to remove trans rights to healthcare.. & gay marriage?
He is only a symptom of a terrible system, but he can actively make life worse for all of us. Now Biden is shit, yes... better, but still shit. However, you can't revolt against right-wing fascists. They are evil and will kill us in the streets.
You can fight back against weak liberals... We want to pick our enemy. Next look at Obama. He was terrible... drone strikes, surveillance, milk toast shit, bad health care, a pure corporatist. this allowed Bernie to rise. The left was like, "This isn't enough."
So out of nowhere, a socialist from VT started a MASSIVE movement. This won't die and we will win if they don't kill us with their hateful propaganda and terrorist right-wing militias. However, we can actually win faster by removing Trump.
Lastly, under Biden and a dem senate we might be able to remove the electoral college. This would basically guarantee no more republicans will win. If we can kill gerrymandering that would be another win.
Eventually we have to take on the rich and exploitative capitalism, but we need to move into a position to strike. We do not want to fight against a fascist right-wing nightmare state. Also on the ballot in OR: medical mushrooms & some drug decriminalization. So, please vote.
