THEME PARKS ARE NOT ESSENTIAL. I miss Disneyland SO much, but the joys of the park are not worth RISKING the LIVES OF CAST-MEMBERS.
Instead of whining that the parks won’t reopen until it’s SAFE to do so, maybe we should have a system in place that pays people and provides healthcare when they get laid off?! But no, capitalism exploits its laborers and then leaves them in a lurch when things get bad.
America’s handling of Covid is a disgrace and Disney attempting to reopen the Disneyland when OC has a 3.2% positivity rate is LUDICROUS.

It is the government’s fault and Disney’s fault that they were unprepared for this pandemic (or any disaster of this level).
The answer is NOT to open the parks and EXPOSE CMs to a deadly virus. It’s for huge conglomerates like Disney to prioritize and support their workers in times of crisis.
It’s for the American government to stop hating its citizens and actually TAKE CARE OF THEM.
Why do we even pay taxes if not to reap the benefits of government programs?? What is the government even for if not to protect its people?
And for Disney to constantly tout the importance of CMs for the brand and the park experience and then turn their back on them in times of uncertainty is frankly, disgusting.

The company HAS THE MONEY. They are just CHOOSING not to use it to protect their workers.
Don’t forget, Bob Iger and Bob Chapek’s “Covid salary cuts” are already over and they are quietly back to making what they made pre-pandemic.

They don’t care about CMs. They care about themselves and their bottom line.
Instead of demanding California to open the park, which is UNSAFE and IRRESPONSIBLE until there is a VACCINE, hold those in power responsible for failing not only CMs, but on a wider scale, the American people.
Remember, the measles outbreak in 2015 started AT DISNEYLAND and we weren’t even in a pandemic then!!!
