hi @ignCalvin umm idrk who u are but i would like to address some of things u talked about in the video about stans. Also TW for this thread // mentions of suicide and self harm
First off u cannot get upset at people for taking ur tweet seriously when u don’t use tone indicators especially when it goes semi-viral like it did & when a lot of people seeing it aren’t familiar with u or ur satirical online personality.
That being said here are some general thoughts I had on the video as a whole. its obv from the first 30 seconds that u did not intend to generalize all of stan twitter but that is exactly how the video comes across.
The reason that generalization could be a bit problematic is because it is just that; a generalization. u are unfairly grouping together a bunch of well meaning genuine people with “stalker fans” that most of us “stans” work so hard to drown out.
The stalker fan label u said would be used instead of stan is in and of itself probably the most hurtful part of this specific part of the video. Frankly speaking, you have no idea why these people are stans of a certain cc -
-but as someone who are apart of the community i know that some of these stans have hyperfixations on ccs and a lot consider them comfort creators (creators that make the watcher feel safe and someone they use as an escape from what may be bothering them in their life)
generalizing those people in with obsessive fans (which is, in my opinion, a better thing to call them) is belittling their reasoning for stanning and sometimes makes people feel guilty or even feel like they are less than people who don’t stan a specific cc.
The comment about fans being hypocritical for ‘preaching love and compassion but then hating on the private acct” is kinda weird ngl. Ofc people who take issue with the things u said are going to speak out about it and some people-
rather smartly, would rather keep their opinions of popular ccs like urself to private accounts with their close friends. that is a very common thing and I don’t think that is hypocritical at all.
Everyone is allowed to voice their opinion and no one deserves to be made to feel as if they are in the wrong for expressing opinions and voicing the fact that something, in this case ur tweets, rubbed the the wrong way.
Onto the ableism parts. I understand 100% that you are neurodivergent (ND) but news flash you can be ND and still be ableist. Just like you can be gay and homophobic and black and racist towards black people you can be ableist as a neurodivergent person.
using the fact you are ND as an excuse to blatantly ignore things that were created to help ND people (tone indicators) is just a shitty thing to do. I understand that you think it is babying but they wouldn’t have been made in ND people hadn’t asked -
so the least you could do is use them. also tone indicators don’t only help ND people they also help neurotypical (NT) people. Tone is hard to discern over text to tone indicators help everyone.
Trigger warnings:
This is one of the more serious things discussed in this thread because they involve people's health and safety. Now i’d like to think in 2020 everybody knows y we use trigger warnings but obviously u don’t seem to have a full understanding so let me educate.
Trigger warnings could be the difference between life and death for someone. Trigger warnings help to indicate a potentially triggering topic will be mentioned/talked about in a video, article, tweet ect.
ur blatant refusal to use them is a gross oversight on ur part especially since ur online persona is entirely satire.
TW // mentions of suicide and self harm

I myself have struggled with suicide and self harm and am really appreciative when people use trigger warnings when talking about those topics because it allows be to assess whether or not i am in the right mental state to read the post
at the end of the day, using trigger warnings is not a matter of liking it or not it is a matter of being a decent human being.
Now for the other serious topic of this thread. The biggest issue with this video in my opinion is the fact you did not blur out any of the names in the video. The disclaimer in the beginning of the video is NOT enough.
A lot of the people who interacted with your og tweets were most likely minors and by not blurring their users and names you encourage people to go to their pages, send unnecessary hate and dox/send them death threats and punz posting about it only made that worse.
You are an adult you should know better. You should know that a sentence in the beginning of a video is not going to stop people from going to attack people so you should have taken that step to prevent your video from being the source of those usernames.
I am glad to see that you are trying to help anyone who was negatively affected by being in your video but none of that would be necessary if you had blurred out their names in the first place.
I genuinely believe that you and punz do not understand the influence you have on your audience and that in and of itself is rather troubling. Now you are by all means allowed to speak on whatever topics you like, withing reason,
but you are a content creator now so you have to keep in mind that you are someone children and teens look up to. They are all still impressionable and latch on to ideologies they might not fully understand yet.
You are in a position of power over your followers and you just need to be aware of that. Keep in mind that i cannot tell you what to do but i am definitely telling you why it would be in your best interest to do the things highlighted in this tweet.
In no way am I saying that you do not care for ur audience because i believe that you do i just think the video in general could have been gone abt in a better way. also this does not change my opinion of you not that i had one in the first place
at the end of the day this thread is all my opinion and is to be taken with a grain of salt. i legit dont care if you ignore this and block me cause i frankly dgaf abt what u think of me 🙂👍 just wanted to voice my opinion on this whole situation
