a reminder to artists to please not blame themselves for their art not getting enough interactions—the tw/tter algorithm is just extremely shitty and relies on trends, which is why art is only worth a day on this site and doesn't circulate the timeline as often as it should.
your art is not boring or uninteresting !!! this site is just probably the worst place to post art on and the updates keep fortifying that idea :/ tw/tter is good only because it's accessible and easy to use, but it does more harm than good to an artist's mental health.
that being said, (most) artists are definitely pressured to produce art beyond their capacity because they feel like they'll fall behind or become irrelevant if they don't! this intensifies feelings of inadequacy, and you'll keep comparing yourself to others
another thing: artists can grow to be more unsatisfied of their work because more often than not, we consume too much art (especially on social media!!!) that our skills don't catch up to our taste. we'll eventually feel like we're improving too slow.
i just hope artists are aware of the platform we're posting on and how it greatly impacts the following: how art circulates the internet and and how you view your own art and creative process.
in reality, art takes a long time to master, but being on this site makes us feel like we have to be the best all at once.
i hope no one minds that this was long and if i jumped from topic to topic ... i've just had a lot on thoughts about this lately and wanted to air everything out
