• Autism & ADHD & why MK has it: A thread by someone w both.
+ Keep in mind this is mostly going to match up w MY experiences & might b different 4 others.
+ ALSO keep in mind that this is 4 fun !! You don& #39;t have 2 agree w my hc, I& #39;m doing this mainly 4 myself. #MonkieKid

• What is Autism?
+ ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or Autism is a developmental disorder that affects almost everything about the way you act, behave and think. Affecting the nervous system, communication, and overall brain of the person.

+ Some people experience different levels of Autism, creating "High-functioning autism", an unofficial term used to describe ppl w Autism who can speak, read, handle basic human skills generally on their own, etc which is the kind I am going to be referring to during this thread.
• What is ADHD?
+ Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD is a mental disorder that can cause hyperactivity, restlessness, impulsive behaviors, hyperfixations, and inability to focus.

+ A "hyperfixation" is something both autistic and ADHD can experience, where -
- Its the ONLY thing you focus on and brings you happiness, the point where its distracting & even damaging to your health. Can b an interest, a person, anything really, & can ware off over time. (this wont be discussed much in this thread but is important know)
• Now, onto the evidence! This is going to be split up into sections, no particular order for Autism or ADHD, but different signs that they show.
+ I will be going over the sign in detail and then giving examples why / where MK shows it (I don& #39;t have videos sorryy).

+ MK& #39;s special interest is JTTW / Monkey King.

+ Hes shown, esp in the pilots, 2 know a LOT abt it & gets excited when its brought up. Writing an "Unauthorized autobiography of Monkey King", explaining & remembering key events, & drawing.

• Neurodivergnt (ND) ppl have a harder time understanding / registering certain social cues / emotions and sometimes wont get any AT ALL. Often in autism, expressions need to be overly exaggerated and -
- expressive in order for the brain to register "OH, thats an emotion!". Some autistic ppl even lack emotions entirely / wont show them often in situations theyre needed.
+ MK has almost cost others lives and even his because of this behavior.
+ MK has almost cost others lives and even his because of this behavior.
+ Hes often shown to be pretty laid back in obviously BAD situations, whether for a comedy affect and / or the fact that hes / was invincible, I feel like his autism would explain this behavior more and BETTER instead of it just being played off as a joke, giving him more depth.
+ One example I like to bring up is in Ep.10, MK is abt to b pummeled by DBK & he just says "Uh I think you got the wrong guy" & proceeds to attempt to pick up the staff. Its only when he notices that hes in CLEAR danger seconds before his doom is when he decides to move.
• To put it blunt, MK& #39;s awareness senses SUCK, being a common thing in ND ppl who have sensory issues.
• Inability to focus / hyperactivity / emotions (ADHD)
• ppl w ADHD often have a hard time focusing on tasks and prioritizing, getting easily distracted, to the point of causing stress. Stress can cause emotional, mental and even physical damage if not treated.

• Hyperactivity comes from excitement (can b caused by a hyperfixation too!). restlessness, unable to sit still.
• Emotions are enhanced by 1000%, even the slightest change or criticism can spiral into a breakdown.
+ Ep.7 is a HUGE example of this.

+ Ep.7 is a HUGE example of this.
+ MK is shown to be easily distracted, unable to focus on the task at hand, causing legitimate actual STRESS.
+ His fear of letting his friends down because of this and how he emotionally breaks down says a lot.
+ His fear of letting his friends down because of this and how he emotionally breaks down says a lot.
+ We can also take Ep.2 as an example of hyperactivity and emotional stability, how he wishes to be everywhere at once, for the people he cares about, but eventually gets too exhausted.
• MK is emotionally wrecked by his inability to focus, which is common in ppl w ADHD.

• Immaturity / falling behind physically, emotionally, mentally and socially (Autism & ADHD)
• Common w ND ppl is being behind in certain fields by default. Can b not growing fast enough, not being socially stable, or taking things differently, all being abnormal for your age.

+ MK, if we& #39;re assuming hes atleast 18 for the legal driving age in China, is coded to b childish and impulsive. I feel this behavior isnt excused, per say, but explained through him being autistic / having ADHD.
• This one& #39;s more of an opinion based thing, but you get it.
• This one& #39;s more of an opinion based thing, but you get it.
• This last one is more of a mini thing so I wont provide too much details, but MK is most likely hyperfixated on Wukong, putting all of this trust in him and generally just wants to be around him all the time, as well as knowing A LOT about him.
• End of thread !! Sorry its so fuckin long lol I went full self indulgent w this, reminder that you do not have to agree w my hc & that I did this for my own need and to educate others who wanted to hear abt my silly lil hc 4 this funky lil lego, thanks for reading <3
• ONE MORE THING !! I forgot 2 mention that Autism can affect you physically / growth wise aswell !! Mistake on my part, but it isnt brought up too much in the thread anyway.
