So last night y'all voted for sapphires and tanzanite in the favorites folder. #JewelWatch

The reason I phrased it that way? Is because I don't always know which is which. I'm getting better at notes, but some of the older stuff... well, here we go.
A ring from Ross-Simmons, I believe several of the colors are sapphires, not just the blue strip.

Looks like they're al princess-cut, but to get them to fit that closely in a hemisphere shape, would take a lot of custom-cutting.
A 28ct Kashmir sapphire ring. With a... what the hell do they call that kind of setting again with the starburst of baguettes?

Custom cutting on those, too.
A 22ct tanzanite from Wallace Chan, set in his patented ceramic, looks like.

You see what I mean, about telling them apart. Especially in photos.
From Baumer, gotta be some sapphires in there. I think it's titanium or white gold? Possibly enameled. With a black pearl. One of the most creative pearl ring settings I've ever seen. And they matched the stones to the pearl's nacre.
From Bucci, flexible bracelets with pave set stones, willing to bet the blue one is sapphire. Pink one might be, too.
From Carnet, I'm pretty sure sapphires, with some of the sequin-cut diamonds that boggle me. So elaborate, I love 'em.
The Chopard bunny bracelet, it says right there, the carrots are orange sapphires.
From Sybarite, a fun rainbow ring.

I'm skipping things we saw in the previous thread, so it's taking a while to pick through. We're not really to the sapphire section yet.
From Suzanne Syz, I think at least some of those stones are sapphires, they might all be, the off-color ones can look like that.

Plus they're a hoot. I'd wear them all the time.
Also from Syz - she's one of my faves, I'm sure that's a surprise - a 52ct sapphire, it's a ring. A very extra ring. That's almost got to be titanium to hold on to that rock.
A brooch and earrings that belonged to the Romanovs, came up for auction sometime in the last couple years.
An insane sapphire suite that also was up for auction recently. Don't know if the earrings are the same as the two pendants on the necklace, detached, or their own deal. I lean toward separate, there are variations with the ribbons.
One of the missing Romanov tiaras (crown? Is it a crown when it's got that much carat weight?) that was probably broken down during the Revolution.
The Sapphire Wave tiara, also missing since the Revolution, the Russians may have re-created it, not sure.
From Lydia Courteille, probably aquamarine but I really don't know. From her Marie Antoinette collection.

We all know I'm a sucker for anodized titanium.
Earrings from Chaumet. That blue one's got to have sapphires and/or tanzanite in it. Maybe the orange/pink one, too.
An antique camphor glass bracelet (that's the milky starburst stuff set into the square links) with a lovely sapphire set into the center. Gimmie.
From Ilgiz F, he's known for his enamel, which is what the dragonflies are, but those dangly stones are probably sapphires.
This is - I hate to say it - Chanel. I know. But it's GOOD. No idea on the stone, y'all can lay bets or something.
From Ananya. No idea which the stone is, again, but pretty sure that's abalone under it. Really pretty combo.
Abalone shell, anyway. Not the squishy actual abalone.
From Autore. Sapphires for sure. They definitely pass the baroque pearl test. Love this one, they really captured a bird in motion. (It's a brooch.)
From Boodles, a suite of mostly sugarloaf cabochons, with several colors of sapphire. The earrings are the best part, IMO.
From Buckareff, a pendant/brooch. The tie is sapphires. I THINK the body is amber. I absolutely love this, would never stop wearing it. Makes me laugh, every time.
From Bulgari, the necklace that is photo-shopped onto the birds in my avi, as little mohawks.
From Canale, a sapphire bracelet.

Yes, they're all sapphires. Nom.
A small suite from Chaumet. Very classic. Sapphires.
THE BEST WATCH TO EVER WATCH. From Chopard, one of my all time favorites. The list of stones is endless, but those beads? Are tanzanite.
Another suite, from Chopard this time. Pretty sure the blue stones are sapphires.
That Necklace from Chopard. Gotta be a sapphire in there somewhere - probably half of them - and the drop is tanzanite, almost positive.

Another of my all time faves.
More Chopard, this is a suite; bracelet, brooch, and earrings. All the pieces connect to the bracelet, for serious convertability.
And the last Chopard piece for now, another bracelet. Probably sapphires AND tanaznite in there. I wouldn't bet against it.

There are matching earrings rolling around in this folder somewhere...
HA. Got 'em.
DeGrisogono earrings. Gorgeous. Love 'em. Wonder how many of the not-blue colors are also sapphire.
From Theo Fennell, that's mammoth ivory and a checkerboard cut tanzanite, which I don't think I've seen before.
From Hemmerle, sapphires with aquamarine and enamel, possibly in iron. They work in a lot of alternative materials.
Uh, that's a bracelet up there.

Micro-setting these days, it's kind of hard to tell rings from cuff bracelets.
From Heub, the notes say sapphires but that color, sure looks like tanzanite. Sapphires with really good lighting, maybe?
And we shall take a break here, probably for the night.

But there is always...

TOMORROW.

Might do a fashion thread tonight. Trying to keep the tags active so people can find me.
Okay, a few of these and then I'm off to do reality again. (Reality is such a bother.)

Very nice sapphire earrings from Bulgari, much more sedate than their usual.
From Gage, sapphire with enamel in gold. Gorgeous color on that one.
Graff - they haven't been around too long but have a rep as THE dealers in large gemstones, these are sapphires. They manage to make them classy, usually.
Graff is where rump said he got Melamine's 22ct engagement ring. Graff said "no he didn't."

If that's real and 22ct, I'm a monkey's uncle. And it looks yellow. (Meow.)
Anyway. Sapphires. Much better topic.

Oops, thought those were sapphires at the top, it's all enamel and diamonds. Anyway, Ilgiz F. Pretty.
From Kahn, tanzanite beads with coral and gold flowers with diamond accents.

TAKE THE FIGHTS OUTSIDE.
From Margot McKinney, gotta be some sapphires in there somewhere.
From Mishra, I would kick a senator for this one. It's kind of my dream ring, when I got married. Should have designed it my damn self.
Jeweler types, would it be possible to do a narrower version of that in 99.99% pure gold and have the stones stay in? They'd all be under 1ct.
A suite from Mouawad. Almost definitely sapphires. They're based somewhere in the middle east and produce jewels almost entirely in suites.
Mikimoto pearls with colored clasp sort of thing, they do a lot of these. I'm betting there's an orange sapphire in there.
From Panchoo, this is not a ring, it is a bangle bracelet. No idea on the stones. Plural. See how there are small ones under the diamond overlay? Very nice.
A pink sapphire from Piaget. Gimmie. Pink zircon is one of my birth stones, this is near enough.
From Pochai, a pendant. Another 'gotta be a sapphire in there somewhere' piece. Possibly the light orange ones.
From Tiffany (I know, sometimes they do it right), tanzanite, diamonds, and tsavorite.
An antique sapphire suite.
From Scavia, we saw this before in the now dead opal thread. I believe the beads are tanzanite briolettes.
Antique Tiffany, when Louis was still in charge. Gorgeous. Sapphires of course. Gimmie.
From SICIS, they specialize in mosaic, that's what the surrounds the cabochons are in, is made of. Probably a suite but I've only ever found the necklace.
From VC&A, sapphire cloud earrings on the left, and a blue enamel, sapphires, and possibly aquamarine ring on the right. No idea if they're intended to go together, I think not, but they've done weirder combos.
From Stenzhorn, I believe sapphires. I love this one, so delicate and pretty.
From Vuitton, a lovely blue stone of some kind. Getting better with my notes.
Stephen Webster of the emerald and black diamond bats, is back with sapphire butterlifes. I suspect he used the same molds for both and varied the colors.
From Wong, I believe yellow and blue sapphires with pearls. I love Asian clouds.
From Wendy Yue, I actually took notes and these are sapphires. And I want them.
Kickass earrings from Zorab, a little bit of everything but I think the central blue stones are sapphires.
From Schreiner, possibly tananite. Whatever it is, they treated it like imperial jade, kinda cool.
And we shall take another break as I attempt to do Real Life again.

We're not halfway. More tomorrow.
Just found, from David Michael, will fight you all to the death for them. Earrings, not brooches.
Some sapphires before dinner...

From Aysoy, that's white jade, diamonds, and pink sapphires. (I took notes that time.) It's a ring.
A ring from Boucheron, those almost have to be sapphires. I want it. I will name him Iggy and wear him every day.
From Buccellati, probably a sapphire. They do a very cool modern medieval vibe that's really distinctive and attractive. They also need to give Dior lessons on how to do lace.
Carnet, "Dragon Cloud" earrings, imperial jade and the blue at least is sapphires.
Also from Carnet, I believe that center cabochon might be jade. But the blue and possibly pink stones are sapphires.

I love Asian clouds.
Chopard, either sapphires or tanzanite. Possibly both.

Y'all really need me to do an amethyst thread some time.
Also Chopard, these are all sapphires. Took notes on this one. Lots of rose cuts in there, very cool. Can't tell if they're set to be transparent or not.
From Crow's Nest, a full-finger ring in the shape of a feather, mostly sapphires.
From Deitrich, I believe that's a tanzanite. I want it.
Interesting partial-bezel set on that one, look closely at how the central stone's set. They snuck it in.
Another Chopard cuff, has to have sapphires, and possibly tanzanite in it. One of my favorites.
From Ganjam, some sapphires on there.
From Hill, I think those central stones are tanzanite.
A necklace from JAR, probably sapphires in the lavender surround, not sure what the blue stone is. Could be high-quality lapis, you never know with JAR.
Antique earrings from Leighton. That looks like enamel but hell with it, they're pretty and I want them.
Fire and ice earrings from Martin. (I'm using either jewel company names or private jeweler's last names.)
From Neely. -squint- Might be a sapphire in there.

I'm doing these from bad notes and thumbnails, so the accuracy is iffy at best.

Anyway, I want them.
Ah. Sapphires from Niquesa.
Flower-fish from Palmiero. Twitter fucking blurred it again.
The bar-fight watch from Piaget.
Yes, the little doors close over the watch face and leave it an uninterrupted sapphire bracelet of spikes.
A two finger ring from Stephen Webster. Not sure on the central stone, but I think the supporting stones are mostly sapphires, if not all. Great way to use mis-matched stones.
Also from Stephen Webster.

We've reached another convenient spot for me to stop, so y'all can admire for a while.
Found an action photo for that one sapphire ring from Suzanne Syz, in case anyone was wondering how it looked/fit.
Sapphires set in aluminum and white gold, earrings from Hemmerle. They look like inside-out geodes. (Yes, I'm cruising jewelry blogs rather than do anything useful.)
Right, let's do some blue stones before dinner.

From Carnet, most likely sapphires. Very pretty and dangly. With diamonds!
More probably-sapphires from Carnet, I don't think they're a set, BUT THEY COULD BE. I wouldn't throw them out of my bed for eating crackers.
From Autore, pearls and sapphire gradients. Cuff bracelet. Let's all go kick senators.
Pretty earrings from BG Jewels, don't know if they're in India but that's sure an Indian treatment of those teardrop diamonds.
From Boodles London! Clouds and sky and sapphires! Yum. Hand it over.
From Boucheron, the solid cuff stone that's opaque is adventurine, and the blue stone is A 150CT TANZANITE.
Suite from Boucheron, sapphires and diamonds and the occasional emerald.
From Canale, sapphires and moonstones. YUM.
And from Caratel a really cute perfume bottle. That you could carry poison in, I mean, no one would stop you... right, and lookie, a sapphire.
The suite from Chopard we've seen before, but I don't think any of us mind looking at it again.
From the Chopard lace collection, I don't know how they get emeralds and sapphires to work so well, but they do.
And again Chopard, this time amethyst and tanzanite.
From DuRose, a brooch that's a blue-ringed octopus. I would never take it off. I would wear it on my bathrobe.
One of Boucheron's question mark necklaces, this one obviously from their swan collection.

Something subtle to wear to the grocery store over a tee shirt.
CHOPARD'S DISNEY PRINCESS COLLECTION!! This is Belle. GIMMIE.

Gotta be sapphires in there but IIRC the briolette drops are all tanzanite.
From Sarkisyan, very cool, might have a sapphire in there somewhere but I think the blue's enamel. Hell with it, I like 'em.
...might be lapis. Anyway.
From Howard, a lovely tanzanite drop that looks like it has an intaglio feather in it?
Fernando Jorge - one of my favorites - with ear-climbers. Gotta be a sapphire in there somewhere.
From Morris, a 64ct Burmese sapphire, unheated. (Meaning no one's fucked with the stone to make the color more intense.)
From Mueller, a watchmaker. Also gotta be sapphires in there. Probably half those colors.
And dinner has arrived! Might be back later, wanna get some writing in today.
Okay, a few tonight while I wait for painkillers to kick in.

I, uh, did my nails earlier and kinda glittered the cat a bit.

ANYWAY!

Micro-mosaic rings from Palmiero, of famous paintings. Sapphires all over.
Another ring with a sapphire in it from Suzanne Syz. This one's a heart, which makes me sad. Something with such a lovely purple tint to it deserves better than a heart cut.
From Stephen Webster. Black diamonds and sapphires, a hinged ring he called the armor-dillo.
From Harry Winston, a ring unoriginally based on the Chrysler Building. But it looks like a nice stone. I don't mind inclusions when they look like a mini universe.
And we're at another good place to stop, have some earrings from Adler.

Another installment tomorrow.
Screw it, we'll do more sapphires with the occasional tanzanite.

From Boghossian, sapphires and diamonds set into either white jade or mother of pearl. I think white jade. Maaaaybe rock crystal, but they work with a lot of jade.
Several Boghossian pieces through here, this is there 'icicle' collection, several colors, full suites. Check how they did the shared-prong setting, that's how they did that reversible necklace from the now lost (damn it) diamond thread.
This is the necklace I mean. Rubies on one side, diamonds on the other, and the marquise cut diamonds in the centers are on swivels so you just turn them to the side you're wearing. Same setting style. Really clever.
Speaking of clever, their stone inlay is. This is a violet sapphire set into purple opal. I know. I double-checked the stones before I took the notes. YUM.
The more-usual-for-Boghossian diamonds set into sapphires. Big 'uns. You can see why they're one of my favorite jewelers.
One of Boucheron's space age pieces, sapphires, diamonds, and rock crystal. I love diamonds set into crystal.
Buccellati earrings, most likely sapphires.
From Carnet, exquisitely tasteful with A+ workmanship. Can't go wrong.

Sapphires go nicely with jeans.
Also from Carnet, pretty clouds with a sapphire gradient.

I'm a sucker for a good gradient, which we all know.
An antique from Cartier, back when they did good stuff. The clear links are rock crystal, it's something that was popular in the 1920s and thenabouts.
See? (One I just happened to have laying around in my faves folder.) This is also rock crystal, platinum, and diamonds. No idea who made it though. But you get the idea.
A suite from Chaumet, more sapphire gradient and one of the best uses of yellow diamonds I've ever seen. I love the shift from white to yellow gold as well, and the use of baguettes in the ring.
Earrings, my fave! With briolettes in a gradient. Truly they were meant for me, Chopard should hand them over.
Also from Chopard, these are set in anodized titanium.

Someone in the materials lab 3D printed a titanium ball much like those without the stones, and they throw it around the shop - it bounces.
Chopard again, aquamarine with sapphires in the setting.
It's a thin they do fairly often. (THE STEP CUT ON THAT AQUAMARINE OMFG.)
Thing, damn it, fingers.

When the prongs of the setting have more prong-set stones in them. Jewelception. SMH.
An antique art-deco (obviously) clip. I WILL FIGHT YOU ALL. And probably loose, but goddamn.
Suzanne Belperrone. I don't think they're meant to go together particularly, but they're both blue chalcedony with sapphire accents.
Back to Boghossian for a second, for more sapphires. With aquamarine, turquoise, and diamonds.
From Boucheron. Diamonds and mother of pearl hexagonally set, air-brushed with enamel, and the clasp - which doubles as a hair clip or brooch IIRC, is tanzanite. Around 50ct.
From Lacloche, one of the more collectible of the early 20th century jewelers, a bar brooch with a sapphire set in the center. There's a diamond missing, upper left of the brooch. Wonder why they didn't replace it, those look like brilliants.
Suite from Chow Tai Fook, mother of pearl, diamonds, and sapphires.
Bracelet from Oscar Heyman, whose grandson is now carrying on the family biz, but this is one of the originals. Another of the super collectibles from the early 20th. For good reason.
The "Atlantic" suite from Jewellery Theater. I've always loved these, the brooch doubles as a pendant.
Kovanovik "Sirens" earrings. Earrings, with a little hinge in the middle for better dangling purposes. I assume he's talking about Greek sirens and not police.
Kuwayama, a necklace set with sapphires. Best photo I could find, unfortunately.
And from Hannah Martin, a ring that's allegedly easy to wear (🤨) made of sapphires and a few garnets.
Calling it a night here. We're almost done, in the last group of pieces. (It's organized by me, so... it's complicated.)
Boucheron question-mark necklace, a snake done with sapphires.
Let's do some more sapphires before dinner, hmm?

This is a brooch from Nitkin, and that might be a sapphire in there. I love how it feels both modern and ancient.
From Orcini, sapphire, blue tourmaline, and tsavorite (green garnet). Love the cut on the central stone. And the setting. And the step cuts on the garnets at the edges. And the diamond swoop.
Lovely ring from Pagnell, gotta have a sapphire in there somewhere.

I love me a hummingbird.
I have a folder of them.
Even more than brights, iridescence is my thing.

Anyway.

Another sapphire ring from Suzanne Syz. Need to do a thread on her one of these days.
From Wallace Chan, the Taoist Immortal pretending to be a Buddhist jeweler.
Earrings from Dunn. Could be tanzanite or sapphire, but either way, mmmm, that color.
A major necklace from Forms.

Kind of a crappy photo, should find another, but wow.
From Boucheron, I think the drop is kunzite, but there's gotta be a sapphire or two in there. Maybe more than a few.
Piaget did an enormous suite - maybe two - full of sapphires, opals, aquamarines and possibly some tanzanite.
A forty carat Burmese sapphire. Don't know who made it, but do we really care? I appreciate that whoever it is, they kept it minimalist and made the sapphire the full focus.
Another piece from Wallace Chan, the large stones are aquamarine but it looks like some sapphires in there too. It's a lariat necklace, I believe.
An antique art deco bracelet, yum.
From Boghossian, a groovy suite, IIRC opals, sapphires, and tanzanite.
From Boucheron - as you can see there - that's a 16ct sugarloaf sapphire set in rock crystal. Very cool. I think part of their winter collection.
And a cuff also from Boucheron, sapphires, mother of pearl and/or opal, and diamonds. Cuff bracelet. Gimmie.
Well, it's my favorites folder, really 'gimmie' applies to all of them.

From Chopard, I believe the beads are tanzanite. No guess on the square stone. I love their long necklaces.
From DeLeneau, a shitload of star sapphires and rubies, and possibly a moonstone or two. But damn, that's a lot of star gemstones.
The face is what they're calling 'heart of ruby', which is to say, the hexagonal chunk out of the center of a low-quality but enormous ruby crystal. Sort of like a champagne diamond.
And speaking of star sapphires from Oscar Heyman, a bunch of them. I don't think it's meant as a suite, but geez.
From Ianuzzi. Very cool pendant, IIRC that's a chunk of tanzanite. Don't know if it was cut to look like a raw crystal, or if it really was. But I love it.
Back when Cartier was good, an art-deco clip/brooch, with sapphires and I think an emerald. The color shift... I'm not sure. But probabl an emerald.
MORE star sapphires, these are from JAR. Earrings.
From Katz, the big stones are tanzanite, but I'm betting the surrounds are sapphires.
From Klyuv. Sapphire. Unf.
From Liu, a 103ct tanzanite - no drooling, it's bad for your keyboards - that detaches and can be worn as a brooch. I like the minimalist-but-not approach on this one, too.
Sapphire earring (of a pair) from Reza, who does very cool twisty stuff. Obviously.
A 423ct tanzanite. In diamonds.

I kind of feel like I should be shouting 'it belongs in a museum'.
From Temple St Clair, fishies swimming in what's gotta be a sapphire or two.
Minimalist necklace from Vartarian. Those sure look like tanzanite to me.
A fun watch from VC&A back when they did good stuff.
I am gonna finish this thread today, I swear.

Classic Verdura cuff (a favorite of Coco Chanel's but we like them anyway), sapphires and either opals or moonstones. I vote moonstone.
Oh gods, I'm never getting to the end.

Two sets of sapphire earrings from Graff. I like them, they can do variety.
A pause for tiny things like dinner.
