1/ Been tracking @NBA_TopShot for the last few months, and the project is starting to feel like a giant NFT Trojan Horse targeted squarely at the intersection of legacy collectibles, sports, and gaming.

2/ Creating an environment of scarcity for digital objects is no easy task— @DapperLabs has done an awesome job building indicators of scarcity on NBATS through categories like (1) sets (2) edition sizes (3) ranked ID numbers (4) moments, etc. https://twitter.com/rohamg/status/1307114727592660993
3/ As a result, collectors can take a number of different approaches in their collecting thesis, while feeling confident that a growing secondary market for moments can also pick up on those same scarcity markers. 
4/ Speaking of secondary markets, NBATS has one natively built into the platform! Buying and selling unique sports collectibles in seconds is a pretty killer upgrade from traditional sports collecting, which requires lengthy card grading, tailored listings, packaging, shipping.
5/ The pack drops, or new releases, are *incredibly* fun—but insanely competitive. I’ve been a part of a few at this point, and a number of these pack drops have completely sold out in < 5 minutes.

6/ The @NBA as a licensing partner is sure to benefit #NFT and #blockchain adoption more broadly by way of onboarding rabid mainstream fans. 7/ It also feels like NBA Top Shot might have some massive tailwinds coming from the traditional card collectibles sector. In September, a Giannis #1/#1 Rookie sold for an eye-popping $1.8M.

8/ Finally, it's fun to imagine all of the interesting ways NBATS can build utility on top of these scarce NBA collectibles -- the upcoming Top Shot video game, live events, fantasy sports, a collector’s geographic proximity to the arena in which the game is being played. 
9/ In other words, I'm not really sure the canvas has even started to be painted for #NFTs and projects like NBATS.
