Foles Week 6 Thread: Solid performance overall, took what the Panthers gave him vs a lot of zone but he can't turn the ball over when points are available.
Blame Nagy all you want for the offense but his players simply aren't executing. You'll see it in this thread.

Bears defense set up a short field for the offense. 2nd down, boot action to the left. Foles hits Graham on an easy completion, but he's got Miller for a TD. Should've been 6 here.
Miller was open A LOT again this game.

TD #1: Not sure why Carolina went man coverage but 2 stem vert/posts inside opens the middle. Foles anticipates the window and fires.
Really nice catch by Kmet. He's a big body target in the red zone.

Nagy ran some high/low concepts outside the hashes (see the first play in this thread).
Foles reads it correctly this time, works the under as the DB levels off and hits Robinson on the over.
Bears had to find ways to get over and around this zone, which they did.

I love Miller and his potential. He's a big play guy that electrifies the offense when he gets the ball...but these mental mistakes can't keep happening.
Know where you are on the field, fall forward for the 1st down. Foles leads him a bit too much but still, just go down man!

Now we get more into the details and execution. This is really poor blocking by Wims. Miller might have something here if Wims isn't blown back.
Wims should body the DB and open this up. Nagy responsible for this piss poor effort?

More high/low on boots outside the hashes. This time to the right. Kmet is the easy read but look at Miller. Why not throw it?
Kmet ends up where Miller was but that's a bigger play available. Not terrible by Foles but is Nagy responsible for this miss?

How was this not DPI? It was called on Eddie Jackson vs NYG. It was also called on Fuller which took another pick 6 off the board.
Foles was a tad late on the throw but still, throw the damn flag. Between this game and Atlanta, just abysmal officiating against the Bears.

17 seconds to go...no timeouts. Throw toward the boundary, get closer for Santos. But man, back foot? Bad.
You think he could've hit Graham down the seam and killed the clock?
Let's not do this consistently. Problem is, happened again in the 3rd quarter.

More detail issues. Catch. The. Damn. Ball.
Nagy may like Harris as a pass catcher but he's done nothing to earn the playing time he's getting. Harris sucked in the blocking game too.
I'd rather see these reps go to Kmet.

Harris messes up...again. Nagy getting creative, may have had had a shot to Wims deep. Harris can't hold his block and Foles gets hit on the throw.
Do. Your. Damn. Job. Nagy is trying to get vertical against a defense that doesn't allow big plays & his guys can't execute.

Annnd more details, this time on Foles. Hit Miller on the crosser! He's open for a 1st down!
Foles progresses to Miller and looks him off. Why? If you've got Miller in the slot vs man coverage, GO TO HIM!!

INT: This can't happen. Points are a premium for the offense right now and Foles has to be thinking, at least get a field goal here. HIT GRAHAM SHORT!!
We killed Trubisky for these decisions, same goes for Foles. Veteran QB shouldn't make this mistake.

Nagy kept going back to these high/low concepts and they worked, incorporating RB routes to the flat to hold the defender. Hit the over for the 1st down.
Carolina has aggressive safeties and they were jumping under routes. Nice call/decision here.

Another nice design by Nagy. Two 'back' set gets the attention of the LB's. Both Monty/Graham leak out, draw the LB's in and that opens MOF for Robinson.
Key vs zone is holding the LB's to get over or around them. Maybe incorporate more two back sets? Become multiple?

Annnd more details. Leno gets beat, Foles gets hit on the throw. If it's on target to Montgomery, may have something there?
3rd down execution was a problem, not the designs. So, blame Nagy I guess? Or guys just need to do their damn jobs?

Bears had two late 3rd down opportunities to extend drives...this is the first one.
3rd & 3, Robinson is short of the sticks even if he comes up with it but...maybe Nagy goes for it on 4th & short?
Foles places the ball away from the defender. CATCH. THE BALL. #12.

Nagy got heat for throwing on this final 3rd down play. But it's also on Foles, no? He had a kill option and didn't take it.
Foles/Nagy tried to win the game instead of being conservative with a run. Robinson dropped it, AGAIN.
The design dialed up a 1st down! Do your job!

Offense is shooting itself in the foot with errors and mistakes. If they execute more, we see consistency.
Nagy is the easy target but he's giving these guys opportunities to make plays. There's nothing complicated about fixing these issues.
Foles said as much after the game.
