Prediction: Biden will win.

Reason: Biden will outperform Hillary with the white working class and flip the rust belt states back to blue states.

Trump barely won MI, PA, and WI in 2016. Unlike Hillary, Biden is not nearly as hated by the public and he’s a man, which adds to his likability.

Biden also benefits from the shift towards the Democrats happening among white professionals (college educated) and suburbanites.

Any gains Trump may in fact make with hispanics or blacks will be undone by underperforming on the white vote.

Essentially, Biden will win more white voters than Hillary and this will give him the victory over Trump.

Can Trump win? Certainly, but it would be an even bigger upset than 2016. The polls would be even more wrong in 2020 than in 2016. I do think Trump will outperform the polls but not by enough to give him the win.

Note, this is what I think will happen, not what I’m saying I want to happen. I believe the challenges we face and actions we need to take will be the same whether GOP or DNC controls the presidency.

We can debate endlessly whether Biden or Trump will be better for our cause but ultimately what happens is what happens. Our goals are independent of the GOP or DNC because neither party represents us and both work together to harm us.

Personally, I think having an open enemy like the DNC is preferable than a false friend like the GOP, but again you can go back and forth on this topic forever. At the end of the day, our situation largely remains the same whether GOP or DNC is in power.

We have to build our own media, our own art/culture, our own advocacy groups, our own institutions, and our own party. The problem is looking to either the GOP or DNC and believing they will solve things for us. It will never happen. We have create our own way out of this.
