Something that I never regret while doing PhD is being myself. Why? Because, I just wanna do my study happily.
And, in this thread, I just wanna talk about myself, and what I achieved besides doing my PhD in Pharmacy. #PhD #phdlife #AcademicTwitter

In my opinion, being myself is important because I donât need to compare myself with other students. I have my own rhythm for doing experiments and writing. I am a morning person: starts at 8am (at home) and 9am-5pm (at office). My supervisor knows me so well about this

Why do I choose to work from 8am-5pm? First, I should balance myself. I have some hobbies: cooking, singing, gaming and watching Korean drama. Having targets for a PhD student is necessary, but donât forget our mental health. Therefore, I always use my time at home for relaxing.
I tried to not use my weekend for working, except I have to use HPLC, do Franz cells or prepare the animal studies Lol. Again, my supervisor is the best person who knows where I go if I disappear after doing these works, or when I ask his signature for an out hours form

The reason I donât use weekend for working is, I love learning new languages. I often use my weekend for learning Korean. Iâve been learning Korean since 2018, and now I am in post-intermediate level. Also, Iâve been teaching basic Korean voluntarily since the 1st day of lockdown
I have been teaching Korean for 3 classes (Level 1-3) in the weekend using Zoom. I love sharing about learning Korean with my Indonesian friends in Indonesia. And, I am so happy when my friends can read and write in Korean using Hangeul (íêž).
I also contributed as staff, head of division and advisory board in Indonesian Student Association in Belfast (PPI Belfast) for the last 3 years. Also, for ArtIndonesia (2.0-4.0) I sang Indonesian songs, danced some traditional dances and cooked Indonesian foods.
Sometimes, I used my weekend for travelling. I have been to York, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Windsor, Birmingham, Coventry, Dublin, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Leiden, Groningen, Berlin, Hamburg, and, of course some cities and beaches in Northern Ireland.
Never feel bored to mention, again, my supervisor is the person who always asks me where will I go next. He is the best supervisor for me because he always understands me for who I am and the things I wanna do.

Overall, I am happy with myself. I could pass my PhD Viva in 3 years, got 2 papers published (as the first author), learned a new language, voluntarily teaching Korean, contributed to Indonesian student association, travelled to some cities and countries, also did my hobbies

This thread is my own personal experience and opinion. You have different argument? That is fine, itâs yours.
