Speaking as an Iraqi I saw the disastrous effects of sanctions on my country first hand. Half a million dead Iraqi kids which US Secretary of State called “collateral damage”. It even empowered Saddam’s regime. The only people that will hurt from sanctions are Nigerians.

Sanctions are not bad on paper and bad in practice. US/U.K. intervention is bad on paper and bad in practice. There’s a really good book by Jean Bricmont called Humanitarian Imperialism and its about using human rights to sell war. West will be frothing at their teeth.

I hope I in no way sound like I’m speaking over anyone and I support #EndSARS through and through. I’ve just seen the way the West has ravaged through countries like mine and Afghanistan in the name of saving people and it never works out and it’s never genuine
