Lots of tweets praising Andy Burnham’s response to govt approach to Greater Manchester Tier 3 measures and then pivoting to attack Keir Starmer, saying “great to see somebody standing up to the govt at last, unlike KS” 🤔(1/3)
Hmm I didn’t get the memo saying that only person from one level of govt can play a meaningful national role in holding this godawful govt to account at any one time (2/3)
To me, those praising Burnham and then attacking Starmer are less interested in building up pressure to hold this godawful govt to account than in (a) party factionalism/ ideological purity, or (b) promoting division among those trying to hold govt to account ie inauthentic (3/3)
