A THREAD ON WHATS GOING ON IN NIGERIA THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE
to start off with, this got brought to my attention very recently and i haven& #39;t seen kpop twitter talk about it at all. this obviously isn& #39;t just for kpop twitter but please educate yourselves !!
firstly, what is SARS? SARS, special anti robbery squad, was first formed in 1992 by nigerian police to protect civilians from robbers. protests began by youth in 2017 due to the force profiling youths for having high end clothing, cars, or even high end phones.
on october 3rd, a young man was shot infront of Westland Hotel by SARS. allegedly, the police took the man& #39;s cars and drove away. a video was posted onto twitter, which started the tag #EndSARS

the nigerian police denied SARS to have been involved in this, and since then protests have broken out across the country, but there has been violence against the protesters as well. a 17 year old died in police custody last monday.
as of right now, a 24 hour curfew has been set for lagos, only allowing essential workers and first responders on the streets
what can you do to help? SPREAD THE NEWS. protesters are being discriminated for wanting their own human rights. this is a humanitarian crisis and i don’t see anyone talking about it. please rt, share this with your friends and get justice for those in nigeria! #EndSARS https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt="">
