I felt a mixture of pride and sadness while editing the final edition of the @sfchronicle& #39;s Class of 2020 project. I imagine the students& #39; loved ones feel the same way as they watch them leave home for college.
When we began this project we thought it would be a fun way to watch Bay Area teens come of age throughout the course of their final year of high school. We had no idea what 2020 had in store for us or these kids.

Finally I& #39;d like to thank the project photographers for sticking with these stories over the course of a year while also covering a pandemic, presidential election, protests, and wildfires.
