And now, some unsolicited and frankly random and incomplete thoughts about MagSafe on the iPhone 12 now that I've used it.

1. Why is it called MagSafe? I get that it's a beloved brand, but the "Safe" in "MagSafe" was that your laptop wouldn't go flying when you tripped over the cable. Here, the cable's too short to trip over and even if you do, the magnets are guaranteed to send your phone flying.
1.5 I suppose the implied "Safe" is that it can safely charge wirelessly at 15W because it's guaranteed to be aligned and to have been approved by Apple (either by making it directly or via MFI). Sure I guess, but it's still weird.
2. As previously tweeted, the magnets on the iPhone are not enough to let it stick to a fridge. The MagSafe puck itself will stick, but only on the charging side. You'll need to double-stick tape it if you want to put it anywhere. https://twitter.com/backlon/status/1318567297238224896
3. As everybody has mentioned, Apple's cases don't snap on any differently than before. I will be curious to see what third parties do.
3.3 Also, @vjeranpavic briefly lost the wallet the other night while using it, it may have slipped off when he put it in his pocket.
3.8(? numbering is hard) The wallet only holds three or at most four cards. And there's no divot on the outside to remove them. You really do need to take the wallet off the phone to access a little open spot to slide your thumb along to get a card out.
4. I haven't had a problem charging any other Qi compatible devices with the MagSafe puck.
5. I dearly hope that we aren't looking at a permanently fragmented world for Qi chargers. Right now we have variously different and often incompatible fast wireless charging methodologies that "extend" Qi from Apple, Google, Samsung, and OnePlus (and maybe I missed some)
5.5 What is the point of the Wireless Power Consortium if it can't get companies to consort with the Qi standard? I know standards processes are slow and etc etc, but get it together y'all.
This concludes my random and incomplete thoughts on MagSafe
