I need to put some words down about the first season of #DoğduğunEvKaderindir. We all perceived Mehdi to be some kind and gentleman because that is how Zeynep saw him.

As she fell in love with him, we as fans fell in love with him. Love is blind. When you are in love you don't always see a person's faults. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

First there was the fight at the wedding. Mehdi assaulted both Celal and Faruk. But before the assaults happened Medhi got pissed off about Zeynep's intransigence before the wedding started. Seeing Celal triggered the violence. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

He only beat Celal and Faruk because he was mad at Zeynep. He did to them what he in fact wanted to do to her at that moment. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

After the wedding he calmed down but not before arguing with Zeynep. He later went into conciliatory mode and was apologetic and treated Zeynep gallantly. This cycle of abuse and apology is common. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

The second sign was when Zeynep was leaving for school and Müjgan and Cemile asked if she had gotten permission from Mehdi to leave. Zeynep said no. When Mehdi said she didn't need it Müjgan and Cemile were because they had needed to get his permission. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

The third sign was is the most disturbing because it is when the grooming and conditioning began. This comes in two part. When Zeynep got married Ekrem cut her off and she was made to rely on Mehdi for money. Zeynep suggested getting a job but Mehdi said no.

At first it seems a benign thing to do because Mehdi told her she should concentrate on her school. It now seems like an attempt to make her dependent on him financially. We'll see this again when she gets her internship and then he sabotages her at work. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

3b is the transportation. At first Zeynep took taxis and buses to school. That stopped however when Zeynep ran into Faruk on the train and Kibrit saw them. After that he'd offer to takes her to school and he'd wait on campus to pick her up. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

By doing this he could then control where she went and who she saw. He effectively isolated her from her friends and peers. She began to spend more time with him and his family in the mahalle. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

Medhi always portrayed his actions as being for the benefit of others. Zeynep was so indoctrinated with this idea, she only criticized him once for beating that man up in the alley way in their date. later she seemed to have forgotten about it. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

Also as the way the show went on the way Mehdi was portrayed changed due to Zeynep's changing perceptions of him from this violent thug to this kind and honorable man. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

The more in love Zeynep was, the less she noticed the warnings signs that she was so acutely aware of in the first few episodes. As their married continued life these traits kept popping up. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

Zeynep was so indoctrinated when she got her first job that she actually felt guilty for asking Mehdi not to pick her up from her first day of work. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

I'd also describe the whole Benal situation as a means to keep Zeynep in check and under control as Mehdi knew that if she'd got a job she'd be not as dependent on him. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

We also see what I now perceive was an attempt by Mehdi to sabotage her at work by showing up randomly under the guise that he just wanted to see her. #DoğduğunEvKaderindir

As this second season is going on Zeynep's perceptions of Mehdi are also changing again and I am curious to see where this story leads and will Zeynep take control of her own life and live free from the abuse? #DoğduğunEvKaderindir
