Decided to give S*perM& #39;s album a chance and I am GOOPED. I& #39;ve never seen a more mispositioned / mismanaged / mismarketed group. Nothing about their rollout makes sense.
You have an album with 14 songs, 4 of them are ...experimantal/unconventional (or just simply bad) and the other 10 are pretty much all GP friendly pop songs. Out of all that material you decide to release the 4 odd songs as singles basically telling the audience:
this is our sound, this is what you should expect. And if the album WAS just that then there& #39;d be no issue with that but it& #39;s not? The only thing this ends up doing is taking away ALL the potential listeners (which they already have SO many considering the fanbase of each member)
which would check the album out had the singles actually presented the sound of the full release. Why would you want minimize the target audience instead of releasing 3 different sounding songs and increasing the chance of people liking at least one of them which would then make
them interested in the album??? This is awful AWFUL work from SM. The almost luxury/premium goods plan being incorporated here while simultaneously not promoting it as that, I really want to know whose idea it was... Anyway, Wish You Were Here a clear EXO title that got away
