why do some hamilstans not get the difference between the founding fathers , the actors , and the characters

the founding fathers don't deserve any kind of praise. they were horrible people.

the actors / actresses do not support slavery or racism, they all have different lives and all they did was PORTRAY the founding fathers. then again,

the characters are not at all the same way as the people who died 200 years ago. the characters were made to be likable and you can like the characters, not the people.

don't go at the cast for playing slave owners, some of which don't even want to be recognized for it. for example,, daveed has so many other accomplishments and projects and yall are still throwing jefferson/lafayette references at him. appreciate the cast's other work!!

and the shipping? idk how to feel about the characters (i'm assuming it's okay) but please don't ship the founding fathers / cast. you can support the actual couples but when it comes to the point yall are making people that are in seperate relationships uncomfortable?? no.

in the end, just know that if you've found an interest in the musical, you have to do the work to educate yourself. we don't need to say this over and over again. know the differences and be respectful of them. end of thread!
