THREAD: Some Durga Pujo pandals you should see (via ppl like us, not irl coz corona) this year. As I read somewhere- "Ebar pujo hete noye, net e".

Clay idol depicting the migrant workers, especially women, who were on the streets, baby in tow.

The pandal is decorated with jute bags that have & #39;traan& #39; written on them, losely translated to relief/aid. Maa, instead of the traditional astras, is carrying traan.
2) NAKTALA UDAYAN SANGHA
Again going with the theme of migrant workers and their plight during the pandemic, this depicts the long march with chappals along train tracks. The sides of the pandal have trucks and trains with clay busts to signify the long, crowded journey for some.

3) AK BLOCK, SALT LAKE
Personally my fav of the pandals I saw today. The lady in purple, visualised as a migrant workers (made of silicon) is smiling at the completion of her long journey. Others follow. In the village, despondent mothers wait for their children to come back.

The walls have been adorned with baatik portraits of the migrant workers. Maa has been visualised as a village mother, with no accessories or astras.
4) MASTERDA SMRITI SANGHA
As a tribute to artists who now have no means of income, this pandal has showcased & #39;patachitra& #39; a traditional form of cloth based painting famous in WB and Odisha. Artwork has been sourced from artists in Medinipur, Coochbehar etc.
