The Filipino comedian 'Tekla' is under fire due to his recent act towards his wife and child which includes harassment and abuse which was recorded and posted online by his wife.

I would like to remind everyone that being in a relationship doesn't justify harassment in any form
.

If you sexually force yourself unto your partner it's rape, if you manipulate her to get her consent by invoking the 'supposed' dynamics of the conservative notion of a relationship [which you own your partner], it's still rape --
-- for the reason that it involves deceit, manipulation, and intimidation.

Rape is rape.
Harassment is harassment
There is no excuse, there is no justification.
I was shocked by this. I thought 'Tekla' was a reasonable person, but I guess Goffman was right that actors or in this case comedians conceal their true-self and manage their character based on the agreed-upon assumptions of the audience for the performer.
Seeing some Tweets saying that they should have just resolved it privately instead of publicly since they are a couple, but that's the issue victims are socially-coerced not to report abuse and harassment because of the twisted and conservative belief of what a 'couple' should be
That's one of the problems with Filipino families, they prohibit themselves from exposing the abuse they experience because they have to conform to the irrational conservative notion/concept of a 'relationship' and 'love' even though it's abuse -- Symbolic Violence.
Based on the cases I've seen when it comes to domestic abuse, the victim constantly experiences abuse, and they [don't report it] just forgive and forget due to their false notion of love as consideration for their relationship, until they can't take it anymore.
How many times did the children and wife experience this harsh treatment prior to this exposal? How many times did they talk about it, to resolve it?

You call it cheap, but for the victim it's liberation.
I also hate this sexist and selective method of incurring fairness. So just because Tekla is a guy we should settle it privately, but when a woman is on the moral high-ground the case should be dealt with privately?
