At the risk of engaging with one of the worst bits of smash discourse I’ve seen in a while, I think it’s legit damaging to the game for prominent community members to act like “there are no floaties” because “we bullied them all out of the game” when that’s just flatly untrue

Literally four days ago we had a 132 entrant event with
Slug (ics, 2nd)
Golden (puff, 13th)
Kzhu (peach, 13th)
Eddy Mexico (luigi, 17th)
Dawson (puff, 25th)
Ryobeat (peach, 25th)
Wevans (samus, 25th)
Blues clues (peach, 25th)

In top 32

At best this sentiment is just wrong and at worst it actively discourages new players who like these characters from picking up the game.

I love hot takes as much as the next guy and I understand the whole “say something outrageous for engagement” thing but at a certain point I think skip baylessing your way through the scene after only watching scl / highlight reels is going to hurt more than it’s going to help

I knew I shouldn’t have had an opinion about this topic so I’m just gonna mute this thread

Just really sad that there’s so many amazing floaty players coming up who absolutely don’t matter to some of you just because they aren’t beating mango or whatever
