Doing taxes is teaching me things about the writing life that are blowing my mind tbh. Everyone knows it& #39;s not a lucrative career for most, but I& #39;m starting to realise how much better you can be if you have a pile of £££ to begin with. I& #39;m so very grateful for arts funding. 1/4
Like honestly, I had no idea how much being able to travel for a relatively small amount of research would impact a manuscript in a world where *everything* is online. It made a HUGE difference. (Thanks again to @ACNIWriting for that). 2/4
Also, living on an island has really made itself felt over the last few years in terms of where I& #39;m trying to get to. I really did not understand how much face-to-face meetings would impact my writing and progress. And that means travel which means £££. 3/4
In short, I& #39;m very proud of the work I& #39;ve done & I am SUPER grateful for those who have paid me for work, endorsed applications, and given me opportunities to travel and have meetings that I could not have afforded by myself. @ArtsCouncilNI @JennySavill1 @AtomBooks @rlfwriters
