Doing taxes is teaching me things about the writing life that are blowing my mind tbh. Everyone knows it's not a lucrative career for most, but I'm starting to realise how much better you can be if you have a pile of £££ to begin with. I'm so very grateful for arts funding. 1/4
Like honestly, I had no idea how much being able to travel for a relatively small amount of research would impact a manuscript in a world where *everything* is online. It made a HUGE difference. (Thanks again to @ACNIWriting for that). 2/4
Also, living on an island has really made itself felt over the last few years in terms of where I'm trying to get to. I really did not understand how much face-to-face meetings would impact my writing and progress. And that means travel which means £££. 3/4
In short, I'm very proud of the work I've done & I am SUPER grateful for those who have paid me for work, endorsed applications, and given me opportunities to travel and have meetings that I could not have afforded by myself. @ArtsCouncilNI @JennySavill1 @AtomBooks @rlfwriters

(And there's way too many people to tag in that. I could write a whole nother book just full of names. If you've helped me to be a writer then I'm more grateful than you realise xxx)
