To folks using Bolivia as an example of elections, remember that a year ago a legitimate election happened. The results were thrown out. A military coup took place
Cops and the milita went door to door hunting, expelling and torturing indigenous people and leftists in the street

The coup government appointed itself and kept delaying the replacement election.
A year of mass demonstrations where a lot of people died got that replacement election put in place.
The results mirrored the legitimate election of a year ago.

Not one of these factors is present in the US, currently.
We had an actually illegitimate election in 2016 and didn't keep the energy for more than a week.
The government that was installed despite receiving 3m fewer votes had reigned for 4 years and never has been pressured.

Our opposition party has folded on their every demand, and we are having a new election this year per the normal schedule.
What reason do you have to think the same technicality won't allow them power?
What reason do you have to think that you've done as much as Bolivians have?

You haven't. I haven't. No one here has. Not one person has fought as hard against this government as Bolivians did against their coup government, and again their election had identical results to the one a year ago.
There is no magical realism this election worked but not that1

It was a year of constant demonstrations, not handcuffed by the peace police, people actually putting their lives on the line for what they believed in.
Have you done that? No you haven't.
And again their election result didn't actually change. Why do you think ours will?

I'm tired of this level of illiteracy, I'm tired of people hearing a talking head that wants a right wing world yapping something, and the whole "progressive leftist" cadre lapping it up and regurgitating it without critical analysis.
As if by divine intervention, to prove my point:
For those of you wondering, the people you're trying to elect think the coup was good and Trump being unable to solidify it was bad.
Maybe use your head a bit next time.
