In multiple jobs, I've had close contact w/ older people and have often heard them complain about technology. It's really funny, bc they themselves often demonstrate the positive effects of new things w/out realizing it.

Let's talk about dialing the wrong #.
Younger people have no idea. Seniors complain that they don't know anyone's # anymore bc we just pick a name out of a list on a screen but that is actually...kind of a good thing. Have you ever heard an old lady get vicious w/ a phone rep bc SHE dialed the wrong #? It's scary.
I always want to ask if she would yell at people for answering the phone in their house when she dialed them by mistake in the old days...which is the point of this thread.

That doesn't really happen anymore bc of cell phones (both bc people have a # now, not households and bc
we're not physically dialing a # anymore).

Bc the point of new advances in technology (which senior often thinks only means "electronics" -- it does not) is to address a problem and eliminate it.
