We shouldn't be surprised by @philvischer's recent turn to the left. His Hairbrush Song taught an entire generation of evangelical kids to be socialists. The hairbrush belonged to Larry. The Peach's need for a hairbrush did not give Bob the right to steal Larry's property. 1/4
Once Larry learns what Bob has done he is thanked for his "generosity". Larry was the victim of theft and gaslit into believing that he was selfish for owning something he didn't "need". Bob redistributed Larry's wealth to the Peach. 2/4
If Bob was so concerned about the Peach's lack of a hairbrush, he should have purchased one for the Peach himself. It is not morally right to take someone else's property even if you think you're doing it for good reasons. 3/4
Is it any wonder that young evangelicals are now flirting with socialism when we fed them a steady diet of this type of simplistic moralistic teaching while they were growing up? 4/4
