Here's a story that will make you think twice about worrying about the future. This is all about living for today. I saw it on First Dates. So there's a lovely lady called Shelly. In 2010 she went to Mykonos and she met the love of her life.
It was love at first sight. They connected, fireworks, etc. He came out to visit her in the UK for a holiday. And then later that year, she went back out to see him in Mykonos. While in Mykonos, they took a boat out to sea.
The boat broke down while they were out at sea. A rescue mission was launched, helicopters etc. but nobody could find them, they were so far out. They were navigating 30foot waves in a tiny boat. They had no flares left, and no life-jackets.
Ten hours later it got dark, and things got more scary. Shelly thought "this is it"... No chance of rescue now. When BEHOLD. They saw a huge light, and a cruise ship chanced upon them. They were rescued and boarded the cruise ship, which was sailing to Rhodes. Both were safe.
They were dehydrated, but rejoicing that they were saved. When they got back to Rhodes a day later, Surin (the boyfriend) tumbled backwards and hit his head. He was in coma for three weeks, and died of his head injury. After all of that trauma. A fall.
Shelly's story proves ANYTHING can happen. Love at first sight. Love across borders. Adventure. Crisis. Rescue. And it can still be taken away in a moment when we least expect it. Live for today. Don't worry about tomorrow. We don't know what's round the corner. We really don't.
