Using OKRs has helped @Afrocenchix to:

- 3x in-house production capacity w/ the use of new tools and machinery

- Grow our customer base by over 256%

- 17x our year on year online sales from June 2019 to June 2020

What are OKRs & why use them? A thread https://link.medium.com/lon0xvzNJab
OKRs are as method for management by objective.

Objectives are where you’re going, Key Results are how you’ll get there.

E.g.
O1: Serve 40,000 Returning Customers
KR: Report on customer satisfaction levels by Jan 1st 2021
KR: Increase customer retention by 15% over the quarter
Objectives should be set at a company wide level, usually by the founders. These are the most important things for the company and everybody needs to be able to say them in a sentence.

Key results should be set by each team member themselves: this helps ensure autonomy & purpose
Objectives can be aspirational (north stars you never quite expect to reach) or committed (goals that you absolute expect to achieve.)

Key results are always committed. They should be scheduled in and planned to ensure they happen, and on time.
Having clear objectives and key results set collaboratively, not only clarifies your purpose, but it keeps you focused.

A focused team is able to achieve the mastery needed to excel in solving the problem your startup exists to fix.
A good OKR process involves team wide brainstorming, solid communication and a culture of reflection and transparent scoring.

We’re 18 months deep and our system works pretty well.
