fuck it, an editing breakdown of skz all in music video, a thread:
fun fact with han's first scene: the billboard was on fire, yes, but they added an explosion (2nd pic) in post production, which is why it looks like it's kind of masked out and the edges of han are blurred!
what they did here is they basically filmed the dance twice, put them on top of each other, and cropped one clip so there'd be two of skz, but my absolute favorite part of the scene is the fact that the left and right sides are at different speeds /slow mo and it's SO COOL
pay attention to the movement of the camera: i thought it was anchored to changbin's face at first, but the shakiness of it actually follows changbin's flow ! also, the composition of this shot is everything (also, thank u to rielle for pointing out that the flash from -
also, not really a big deal, but if you're wondering why sometimes the frame gets really blurry, it's because the editor/director added digital motion! so basically they're adding more movement from the already existing pan, but because it goes against the movement of the
physical camera, it creates this blur! this is also extremely obvious during the district 9 mv and during the choruses of back door
the freeze frame before the "paper drop" is honestly so cool, and very much reminiscent of god's menu
also...really random, but i love the colours of this clip?? the way they keyed chan's skin is perfect and the contrast of the lighting and just the colour grading *chefs kiss*
classic whip pan brought back from god's menu (whip pan = accelerate the camera really quickly to transition from one scene to another)
REALLY MINOR DETAIL: but for some reason i really loved the noise from the low light ?? usually when filming low light you want to avoid noise and make it as smooth as possible but i liked it
omg ok so this is the same transition from you know felix's dududu part? THAT ONE!! IT's the same!! it also works the same way like those tiktok videos where the clothes fly into the sky really quickly and then the person comes back

just some comments: but i really really appreciate the fact that the director brought up various editting motifs from their previous music videos and most notably god's menu. personally, i thought the editing here was even better than gm-


-because they knew how to use their transitions wisely and for impact: they knew when to do simple hard cuts, whip pans, fades and flashes. another is that the reason why the music video fits the song so well is because of the camera: the camera was pretty much bouncing along
one thing that's changed in skz music videos i've noticed, is that they've started to utilize physical sets alot more and it's super sexy. i really appreciated the lighting -
