I think the decision to make tamlin abusive (and later villainous) was an unnecessary and lazy one, I would’ve much preferred reading about them falling out of love because tamlin’s priorities are now on learning how to lead and cause they realised they rushed the relationship
He was 100% absuive in the book tho, don’t get me wrong there’s no excuse for his actions
but reading about that development in his character was annoying (not cause I stanned him or anything, he was always dull af) cause there were so many more interesting routes to take

fuck it were doing an acotar NINI rant cause I can’t sleep,
Obviously don’t read these tweets if you don’t want spoilers for the series

I wasn’t a fan of feyre and rhysand being mates
The only time I thought it was cute was when she said her bday was on the longest night and when he said he sent her a scene of the sky and she painted it, those were cute af

but everything else irritated me
cause rhys had the upper hand throughout their relationship, he always knew more than her and their relationship was the one plave where they were on even footing but nooo he had the insider scoop on that too

I was really enjoying his dynamic with feyre, how he was pushing her and she was fighting back and he was slowly growing to like and respect her
but then finding out that he knew they were mates the whole time changed my whole perspective of his actions

my main issue with the first book was that sjm kinda threw feyre into a world where everyone else was 1000x more powerful than her, rendering her actions kinda useless
like when she went back for tamlin I was like??? what could u possibly do bitch??
like when she went back for tamlin I was like??? what could u possibly do bitch??
and amarantha basically had to do some Olympic gold level gymnastics to bend over and accommodate feyre into the conflict in order to make her useful
like I still don’t see why she gave her 2 different ways to beat her, 2!!! Like what kind of villain
like I still don’t see why she gave her 2 different ways to beat her, 2!!! Like what kind of villain
and I think sjm also realised that she set feyre up to fail which is why she gave her all the powers of all the high lords which was like ??? where did that even come from?? what is the logic behind these powers
but it didn’t really help cause feyre was once again thrust into a court she knew nothing about so whilst all the othe characters were furthering the war efforts in the background, feyre was focusing on herself (which I loved reading about but also not really relevant to the war)
and organisimg some letter writing campaign with her sisters and going on random excursions whose relevance to the plot I still don’t understand but whatever
