India were already trailing 2-0 in the 3 match series against Pakistan. Batsmen were humiliated again in the 3rd ODI by the Pakistani bowlers (esp @REALsaeedajmal who took a 5fer), as they could muster only 167 runs at Feroz Shah Kotla batting 1st.

In came 22 yr old @MdShami11 (named Shami Ahmed), who bowled testing lines at good speeds to help @BhuviOfficial chip in with wickets. The ball did everything when Shami came into bowl. It kept low, it swung in, it seamed away/into the batsmen. His fig read 2-2-0-0 (2 maidens)
The first 4 overs had already signalled the intent with which India would go in the match. The intent that @msdhoni wanted after seeing his side go down while batting. The 2 overs where followed by another 3 aggressive overs as his 1st spell ended up reading 5-3-12-0. 
The spell helped his senior partner @BhuviOfficial to dismantle the Pak top order as they could only score 22 runs in the 1st 10 overs at the loss of 2 wickets. India went on to defend the total by 10 runs & we knew we have got a bowler who would say Main hoon na ..(I'm there)
..whenever the capt would need someone to show that aggression & intent. @MdShami11 would then become India's bowling leader in the 2015 WC despite having a serious injury in his left knee. He took 17 (behind @y_umesh 18 wkts, 4th overall) wkts at an avg of 17.3 and ER of 4.9

This test match was played in Johannesburg. It was played in the period where Ind could not buy a draw let alone win on an away tour (SENA in particular). Ind did look to win this one when they had set the target of 458..

But only for SA to show the fight. Thanks to @faf1307 and @ABdeVilliers17's valiant innings SA were on a verge of winning this test only for @MdShami11 to interfere. While he didn't get these 2 out but he was the only one who looked like taking their wicket tbf. Infact..
He was the only one who took the wkts of @AlviroPetersen (76), @amlahash (4), and @jpduminy21 (5). And yes he was the only one raising his hand up in otherwise hopeless situation for India.

..he encountered while playing in the WC as aforementioned. The injury was so serious that Shami had to walk using crutches for 6 months. Many experts just hoped for his comeback. Many thought his fate would be similar to other India quick bowler as they eventually.. 
..end up becoming 130kmph medium pacers.
Well, @MdShami11 had other ideas. He went through a rehab, lost 15 kgs, got his run up sorted and that meant he came back bowling at a higher speed than he used to bowl. Again Shami laughed at the world and said "Main Hoon Na"

He will now become India second most important all format bowler for India. His exploits in the 4th innings would make the world call him the "2nd Innings Shami". He will be then be the 1st Indian to take a hat-trick in a world cup. While all these achievements..
..made Shami indispensable in 2 formats. There was still doubted in T20s. It was also bcz his IPL stats were unimpressive too. Before 2020, he took 40 wickets at an avg of 39 and ER of 9. He knew it & i.e. why when the whole world was sitting at home scared, Shami trained!
He trained and trained. He must have felt good when he started with a bang against @DelhiCapitals but must have felt really terrible seeing his team fall & his capt on the knees everytime the side failed close games. While he was still telling I'm there..he kept picking wkts.
14 of them at an IPL career best avg of 21.. He also gave lesser runs.. 2nd best ER of his career (8.5, best was in 2014 at 8.4).. but nothing went well for his team. He knew if it comes to that one moment where he can say his capt he's still there,..

He fires up not 1 but 4 yorkers correctly. He defends the 6 runs (ah, yes yet again defends a low score). he smiles as he knows his team will live to fight another day. His capt @klrahul11 smiles as he knows atleast one guy will be there to fight with him!!
Learning:
Lot of times we talk about being the person who wants to be there for their loved one. The loved one/the world might forget but it is upto us to find that opportunity to remind them that we are there, again n again. Hope you enjoyed this thread on @MdShami11.
