So...I saw some fanart of Velvet Room Akechi, and I had a thought. What if Akechi really did die, but he became a Velvet Room attendant?

to find that a new face was awaiting him beside Igor and Lavenza. He couldn’t quite place whose face it was for a second, but then it hit him — it was Akechi. He was staring right at Akechi’s face. He feels mixed emotions. On one hand, he’s happy to finally see him again. 2/?

Even if they can only meet while Ren’s still needed by Igor, at least he will be able to see him. Maybe they can finally fulfill that promise they made so long ago. On the other hand, he feels a twinge of sadness. Once Igor no longer 3/?

needs his assistance, he’ll never be able to see Akechi ever again. He’ll never be able to hear him speak again, he’ll never be able to hang out with him again, he won’t be able to have those amusing little competitions with him over billiards, chess, whatever it would have 4/?

Another thing I thought about adding last minute — I wonder if Akechi would remember who Ren is? I don’t quite know how the Velvet Room truly works, but I imagine his memory would not be perfectly clear. Maybe Akechi has gaps in his memory now, and feels like he should know 6/?

Ren, but can’t quite place his finger who he is. Ren takes up this chance to get to know each other all over again, and would go on to show Akechi all of the places he once showed him, in an effort to help him remember everything. He takes him to the 7/?

years earlier. If only. But, you can’t change what’s already been done, and so, Akechi pushes that thought out of his mind. No use thinking about what could’ve been, anyway. He decides to focus on the present, the wonderful opportunity he’s been given to see Ren once again. 12/12
