It's been a rollercoaster to get to this point but I'm delighted that @turingfest is finally starting today!

Here's a quick preview of why we've picked an 8-week bite-sized format, and who we'll be learning from: [THREAD].
Obviously, events looks very different right now. When we sat down to try to figure out the best way to serve our community this year, we started by thinking about what conferences really are:
The best conferences are bundles of content, expo, networking - and fun! - bounded by two key constraints: physical space, and time. The way we are using those two elements are necessarily altered this year for all of us.
We're also all pretty fatigued by being at our desks, in our rooms, and on Zoom calls all day (though great job by Turing Fest alumnus @ericsyuan & team for keeping us all connected!).
So, without the constraints of time and space, we decided to move away from the 2-3 day format we typically use to unbundle some of the components of our event. Obviously top quality educational content is key, but so are all of those serendipitous chats: we've tried to keep both
So #TuringFest will run 2 afternoons per week for the next 8 weeks, in short bursts:

Tuesdays 2-5pm UK time: keynotes, 1:1 meetings
Thursdays 3 - 5pm: fireside chats, roundtable discussions

All keynotes & firesides will be recorded & available on demand exclusively to delegates
Keynotes on our Build track: @stewhir @r00k @ItamarGilad @Padday @johncutlefish @amyzima and @Intentionaut (with one more TBA!)
Fireside chats to come with: @eamonncarey @dremilyanhalt @devisridhar @randfish @Erin_Platts @andreyvinitsky @nandoodles
and @peldi

Also, on Thursdays, we'll have 30+ roundtable discussions with small groups of peers
So, welcome to #TuringFest 2020!

So much to learn, so many people to chat with.
