okay so chit chat about these pics

so i’m seeing hella people talk about these pics (7 years later) calling one direction disgusting and getting on zayns head for smiling in these pics. ofc you can be offended if you want, i’m not gonna sit here and tell you not to be offended but this is just what i wanna say.

so one direction went and took a trip to accra in ghana with comic relief charity and basically like volunteered and sht with the charity. they decided to make a mv “blogging” their experiences and basically just them traveling. this mv took a vlogging route because they didn’t

want to spend money on getting like what do you call it like props and scenery and sht. it was then in nyc on their way to ghana and spending time with ghana and some of the ghanaians out there. doing this, they raised over £2,000,00 or $2,586,930 which would’ve helped the people

i forgot to add that them doing this mv raised hella awareness for what was going on out their and because of this their fans donated money too and helped. they had such a big platform and used it to help raise awareness and help get donations

out there a lot. in the bts stuff in their movie you can literally see them getting hella emotional seeing what the ghanaians have to go through and crying. they also include in their mv and stuff them playing with the children and community and dancing with them. so into the

problem everyone has. everyone thinks this photoshoot is horrible and disgusting because of zayn smiling and them taking pics with some of the ghanaians. tbh i know zayn smiling in the pics looks bad but it’s really not something to be pressed over. like i’m not seeing how

one smile is hurting ANYBODY. zayn was so emotional while they were shooting this and bts. like one smile shouldn’t leave with “omg they’re so disgusting and weird for this ew”. like i said y’all have the right to be offended i’m not gonna take that from you i just don’t see

nothing wrong. y’all also making it seem like these people were helpless and couldn’t say no. they aren’t dumb. they have a voice. if they felt like this was wrong, if they didn’t agree, or simply didn’t want these pictures to be taken it wouldn’t have happened. y’all making

them seem so helpless as if they were forced against their will to take these pics. also before someone attacks me asking me if im black blah blah blah yes. my grandma is from ghana and specifically accra. my grandma lived out their for years until she eventually moved out here

my mom was born out here but is fully ghanaian for the most part. i have been to ghana and i’ve been to accra. it’s not the nicest place. ofc there are some nice places but there also are bad places. if anything i’m thankful that they did this whole thing. they raised hella

money for them which truly makes a difference whether it be little or huge. their intentions weren’t bad and idk why there is such a fuss over a couple of pictures. i also don’t know why there’s a fuss about these pics 7 years later LMAO. no one had an issue back then so what’s

changed?? anyways i just wanna leave y’all with that. and for the third time before someone comes at me sideways you’re entitled to feel how you feel. i’m not sitting here telling y’all “stfu don’t be offended”. i’m just telling y’all what i think and how i’m genuinely confused.
