Thread of everything I hate about smash ultimate
How the switch has 6-7 frames of native input lag. This makes the game feel very unresponsive and creates a sense that you aren’t completely in control of your character.
Way too many characters in the game for a competitive fighting game, and at least 30 of them are so necessary to be in smash. Also, 80% of them are camping fucks and just not really enough rush down characters in the game.
How viable and gimmicky the low tiers, for example, I think we can all agree Zelda is not that good, but have you ever played vs a Zelda and thought that they outplayed you in any capacity? No the character carries even absolute shitters.
Lack of grounded movement options, you can’t quickly move to an area safely that is just a few feet in front of your character, this makes it so hard to close the gap safely and makes the game campy.
Grabs are extremely small, and running grabs stops way too much of your momentum, it just feels bad, idk how else to explain.
It’s soooo much harder to be creative in smash ultimate than it ever has been in any smash game prior, in terms of both movement and combo routes. The game just tends to get very repetitive.
I miss the fact that you can’t run past people anymore, it added so much to neutral and removing it just removed depth from smash.
This is a smaller one, but I hate how every character got their range nerfed. I guess this is to make up for the lower lag on moves but just unnecessary.
The online is just utter trash. With how much input lag it adds and how limited it is in general.

Welp, I think that’s everything. I still think the game has enjoyable qualities to it, and has sooo much charm, but like as a competitive game, it’s just bleh to me.
