dear inner child,

i know that a lot of people toyed with your heart and took advantage of your love. i know a lot of people sabotaged you of your energy. i know a lot of people betrayed you, lied to you, manipulated you, and made you feel worthless but one day you'll love again.

one day you'll trust again. one day you'll wake up and break the locks you have around your heart. one day you'll let your guard down and let love in again. let connections with others form again. one day you'll have better judgement of people, and no, it won't be fear based.

you won't move anxiously, but still cautiously and graciously. you'll build connections with people who also seeks balance and equity in their relationships. you'll have reciprocity. you'll have loyalty. you'll have something better than what you already know or you're used to.

you are enough. you're enough for yourself. you may not ever be enough for anyone else, but i bet you'll find someone who thinks you're enough for them. one day. you just have to be patient. good things come to those who wait.

and those that made you suffer remember nothing was ever wasted. your love wasn't appreciated by them, but it will be by someone else. first let it start with you. you deserve the love you've given to everyone else. it's your turn to be loved as greatly as you loved them.

stop traumatizing yourself with painful memories of those you loved turning their backs on you, and stop pushing away the ones that actually are trying to love you. either way, you're only blocking yourself. you deserve better. i love you. you should love you too. it'll be okay.
