Since the government are determined to make our #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeraNOW protests as violent as they can be, to discredit , kill and harm as many people as possible.

Here are a few ideas of how we can effectively protest and outsmart the government.

#EndSARS
1) flash protests.

A guerrilla like protest, where the protesters disperse and regroup in different places. Protestors gather at location X and in a few hours, disperse and regroup at location y.

The police become clueless on where and how to contain them.
Peopleless protests.

This is my favourite, protestors arrive early with something or an item to replace them, then leave and amplify the protest online.

E.g, protesters can arrive with coffins, or red paints , place them at the protests location, leave and go home/work.
Imagine thousands of coffins In front of the govt House, toll gate & major roads or buckets of red paint poured in front of them to depict our blood they want to spill.

In this protest, because people are not on the road, there are less chances of reprisal from the government.
Also because this type of protest are mostly visual, they go viral quick, they can be done by everybody and then we focus on making sure it trends in every online space.

A new location can be chosen daily and when the old location have been cleaned, we reprotest there
3) mass disinformation

This protest works by sharing false information online and on messenger apps like WhatsApp, bulk SMS, emails within a 24- 48hrs window. The goal is to destabilise the government.

False information can be announcement of public holidays, a death,
A fuel strike or increase, Boko haram killing people in Ikeja, banks closing or folding, plane crash etc.

Think "end of the world hysteria" that's the goal.

This disinformation can also target the police, lead to loss of economic activities.
Finally, there are always way to protest and we shouldn't be limited to just being on the road. We need to outsmart, outthink, outplan the government. We are the phone pressing generation, let's press phone with our coconut head and bring them to their knees.
Think about any Nigerian protest, old and new that yielded results, and you will see theatre and drama. And we need ours

The government understand this, the thug with matchetes and prisoners running out makes better viral images than chanting at a place.

We need drama.
