TW // OCD

I believe people have a misconception of what this mental illness is. Yeah it& #39;s washing your hands all the time and yeah it& #39;s wanting everything to be perfect but it& #39;s more than that. You have an obsession (if I don& #39;t wash my hands I& #39;ll d word or if I don& #39;t out this +
Into place someone might trip and hit their head) and then there& #39;s a compulsion, when you act on it (washing your hands, leaving something a certain way). People also think it& #39;s a light mental illness but sometimes it can be invalidating, it takes all your mental space and +
And that& #39;s all you think about. If isn& #39;t also just having everything into place or washing your hands, can also be excessively repetitive actions because you think if you don& #39;t do it something bad will happen and sometimes it shows in your speech or doing something totally +
Unrelated with cleaning. Sometimes the repetitiveness of it is so big you cant do anything else and, right now, I& #39;m not acting on it but it& #39;s still taking all my mental space. It& #39;s really hard living with ocd and trying to cope with it while living a "normal" and productive life
Also, in case you don& #39;t know, OCD is a mental illness that comes from anxiety
End of thread, I& #39;m feeling very triggered so I just thought I vented a little on it and helped educating people
