The grandpa 💔
My brother’s a nurse (not COVID patients.) You can see how much this reality is affecting our frontline workers — even after they sign up for this career knowing and accepting the inherent risks and duties of being in the medical field.
WE CAN’T BE COMPLACENT. 😷 https://twitter.com/maddowblog/status/1318371279838302210
I spoke to my sister tonight as she set up her classroom — her school’s opening after being remote all year. Lose your job vs. health (protections not at level of a nurse AND relinant on how well 1st graders listen — that’s scary!)
We’re all “over” this but WE MUST STAY VIGILANT.
We still need to be appreciative of frontline workers — whether a paramedic, postal worker, teacher, or grocery clerk — and the only way to TRULY show respect for their risk (as they literally pray they don’t get sick) is to suck it up, respect science, mask up, and stay home.
OMG. I wrote this thread and then I saw this re-write for the first time!☺️ https://twitter.com/ninedaves/status/1317450249582088192
