So Zayna does this thing she thinks is soooo funny— she points to herself and says “mama” then points to me and says “baby” and I usually tell her “no, I’m the mama! You’re the baby!” and she always dies laughing & says it again.....

But tonight?

I ate dinner out of HER bowl and made her use a normal sized plate and fork.

I (pretended to) take a shower using HER body wash and made her use mine in her bath, no toys!

she asked for a toy and I said “Mama doesn’t play with toys. Only Baby plays with toys”

& then I read her a snippet of one of my books instead of Llama Llama Red Pajama.

I lotioned her up (with my Body Butter... shameless promo) and sat her in my bed.

I said “goodnight mama... baby is going to bed”

And then I went to lay in her bed.

She was in shambles. Ran to her room, crying.

I said “I’m the baby... the baby sleeps in here”

She goes “NO MAMA... I BABY!!!” pointing to herself.

I argued a little saying “no... I’m baby”

She was livid... pointing to herself saying “BABY...” pointing to me saying “MAMA.... GO” (making me get out her bed)

& then I go “ok, ok...fine. You’re the baby?”

She goes “yes” and crawls into bed.

Now she’s asleep and I’m in my room eating wings.

Parenting is fun.

When I play late games of among us before I put her to bed like tonight, I usually let her watch a couple eps of Word Party or something, but tonight I put on a documentary while I played LMFAOOOOO

She was sitting there so confused

I said Mama doesn’t watch word party

It really took a lot of effort to keep up this baby charade

Eating broccoli with that tiny ass fork almost made me want to die but the joke has been successfully FLIPPED.

And before parent patrol pops their heads in.... Zayna is fine... she’s a bright, beautiful, smart, and witty baby.

I still read her llama llama red pajama and sang my goodnight song.

Parenting can be a lil fun sometimes lol
