More on Won Du-jae, but will share his weaknesses this time. Jo Hyeon-woo makes an impressive save, but as opposition striker Cho Gyu-sung chases the second ball, Won loses him completely and almost “allows” Cho to blindside him, which ultimately leads to conceding a goal. https://twitter.com/realstevescores/status/1315439231867654145
Another fatal defensive error from Won Du-jae, who’s the last man to put pressure on the ball before Song Min-kyu scores. Won’s initial body orientation is wrong to begin with as he’s leading Song towards goal. Song eventually beats him easily by going the other way and scores.
Fortunately for Won Du-jae, Song Min-kyu does not score on this play, but this is poor defensive awareness and marking. Won (second from top at the back in red shirt) clearly has Song in his sight in transition, but lets Song blindside him yet again with a simple run in behind.
See the tweet I quoted to start this thread. Defensive errors have affected Won Du-jae’s confidence and he’s now a different player on the ball. It’s actually a good thing that the ball went out of play as an interception would’ve led to a clear-cut chance for the opposition.
