David Coote....

A thread..
So let me begin, this isn't just a bitter Liverpool fan but a fan of all football who hates seeing our game ruined.
David Coote is one of the new faces of referees in the top tier after getting his Premier League status in the 19/20 season after 8years of lower league officiating
His time in the lower leagues wasn't without controversy.

Leeds fans will recall matches where he sent off Liam Cooper, for a challenge that was deemed a yellow at worse. Keeper Kiko Casilla saw Red when tackling Billy Sharp outside the box despite having his position covered.
Leeds went on to lose 1-0 against Sheffield United and saw the Blades replace them in the automatic promotion places from the Championship.
Coote's last game with Leeds saw him book manager Bielsa for having too many coaches giving instructions at the same time.
Coote sent off John Fleck in the Sheffield Derby, outraging Blades boss Chris Wilder.
Wilder said: “The game has gone if you can’t tackle like that now. That was just a proper tackle"
Coote sent players off on both sides in separate incidents when Arsenal played Blackpool in the FA Cup.
A move that angered more managers. “Where we play every week that’s a yellow card, I couldn’t believe it when he sent him off,” the Blackpool manager, Terry McPhillips, said.
Coote was in charge for Wolves vs Villa where Jack Grealish stamped on Conor Coady.
Coote missed the whole incident - to which Grealish was retrospectively given a 3 game ban for his actions.
Coote was the VAR official when Spurs player West Ham last season.
Spurs scored but the ball hit the arm of Sanchez in the build up.
David Moyes said "I thought that every ball that hit an arm and led to a goal was to be chalked off.
"I am asking who is it making that decision!"
David Coote took charge of VAR again in the Leicester vs Man City game last season.
Kevin De Bruyne handled this free kick, however VAR decided no penalty to be awarded to the home side.
City went on to be awarded their own penalty in the second half thanks to this VAR review that David Coote viewed as handball!
Earlier that same day, Coote took the VAR role for the match between Spurs and Chelsea.
He deemed this potentially leg breaking stamp by Lo Celso on Azpilicueta as not worthy of a red card...
He later changed his mind and said he should have recommended Lo Celso be sent off.
Liverpool fans will remember Coote's first VAR role in one of their matches - against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Coote was deemed "not strong enough" to advise the on field referee Martin Atkinson that Origi had been fouled in the build up to United's goal.
Coote was in charge for when Burnley came to Anfield after lockdown, ending Liverpool's home 24game winning streak.
Coote waved away numerous penalty appeals for Liverpool. Burnley's goal came from a free kick later shown to be incorrectly awarded.
Andy Robertson wasn't happy!
To quote the Scotsman as he confronted Coote after the game: "How that's not a penalty on me... What's the point in having it (VAR)? What is the point in having you?"
"Wait until you see it. Wait until you go in and see that and you’ll go, 'How the f*** is that not a penalty?'"
Yous didn’t see f***ing anything. Yous didn’t see anything the whole game apart from f***ing booking him in the last minute. F*** me. What’s the point of having yous in the middle? What’s the point of having you? Eh? F*** me, honestly."
Before Everton fans pipe up and go on about Liverpool bias, David Coote has managed to upset the Blue side of Merseyside with his actions during their match against Brighton last season. Missing a clear penalty, not applying the rules of the game. One toffee fan calls him "Blind"
It appears Coote also has history at Brighton, disallowing a perfectly good goal for Aston Villa at the Seagulls home ground.

The next day saw the Utd vs Liverpool match where the Origi foul occurred. The decision even caused Richard Keys to wade in, and he hates Liverpool!
Is it any surprise then when we look at what happened at Goodison, that Coote, once again the man in the VAR hot seat, misses the most basic and obvious of red cards.
Not one former referee or pundit has said this wasn't a sending off offence.
Some have defended Pickford stating
that they didn't believe any malice was intended. But this challenge was both reckless and dangerous. How it can be deemed a fair challenge for the ball when the ball is over a metre away from Pickford!?
The FA should be holding their heads in shame for not retrospectively
awarding Pickford with a three game ban. Instead they are backing Coote's call that it was a genuine attempt to get the ball!
Maybe the Referee's Association should look to remove David Coote from their game rota. But no, he is given tonight's Leeds vs Wolves match, where yet
more controversy is forthcoming with disallowed goals and a potential red card kicking out offense that VAR dismissed because minimal contact was made despite the clear intent.
Spurs fans will point to Son's red card last season with nearly exactly the same incident!
Its clear to me that David Coote is a walking Jonah when it comes to football matches. He endangers players, he endangers the results, he endangers the whole game.
He's either incompetent, biased or looking to match fix results!
Managers up and down the country should refuse to
accept having David Coote being involved in any game, be it on the pitch, on the side, or in the VAR studio. He is everything that is wrong with officials today, and if the referees association want to have any ounce of integrity left, they will remove Coote from active status.
