Since I’ve started this dive into Sports Performance the last 8.5 months, I’ve learned more than I’ve ever thought I wanted to.

However, probably the most important thing I’ve just learned, is that I cannot, nor do I need to, implement everything I learn when cueing athletes.
Watching a clip from a good friend @FATboysOLine (who you should follow), I realized that I’ve been over cueing, and even incorrectly cueing a movement with some of our development-mental athletes because I myself was over analyzing the movement.
I had been searching for the perfect cue instead of cueing what I had already known to be optimal, because I was so excited to implement new information, but haven’t learned it well enough to know I didn’t need to, and that in turn slowed the progress of the athlete.
I have to take a step back, reevaluate, and remember that just because the information is accessible to cue, doesn’t mean it is appropriate to cue.

Appropriate is the key for me in regards to coaching.

Living and learning!
