Industrial Revolution Thread:
I hope this thread provides sm context to the importance of #Chainlink
What is the 4th Industrial Revolution?
Before answering that, we must understand the context we are in and understand the other 3 industrial revolutions.

The 1st Industrial Revolution: mechanical
Began 1712 w/ steam pump to pump water out of mines. Helped them dig deeper and faster, essentially get more coal out of mines.
Tool helped get more of a resource to improve efficiency

The 2nd Ind Rev: mass production
Began late 1800s. Technology was already there from 1st ind rev but this is when scientific management came in.
It was the examination of the relation between humans and machines in factories which led to improve efficiency.

The 3rd Ind Rev: digital
Began in the 1950s. It is what we know today. The computing, digital, microprocessing, internet, etc.
So what is the 4th Industrial Rev?
People think robots or AI but that& #39;s not necessarily it. That is still a part of the 3rd.

The diff b.w the 1st and 2nd was that the 1st was new technology that allowed for "more" (extraction) whereas the 2nd was centered around the relationship between the technology and human interaction to change fundamentally how people lived and worked.

The 4th Industrial Revolution is reflective of the 2nd Industrial Revolution.
The 4th Industrial Revolution is taking technologies from the 3rd Industrial Revolution to fundamentally change the way we live/ work.

The 4th Industrial Revolution is not a definitive moment in time in terms of when it starts or ends, think of a spectrum as we have started it already.
On a relative scale, think of companies such as Uber, AirBnB, Netflix...

They have all taken technolgoies from the 3rd Ind Rev, examined the relationship between humans and the tech, and fundamentally changed how we live/ work.
Uber - no taxis
Aribnb - no hotel
Netflix - no movies

So where does #Chainlink fit in?
$LINK is basically taking technology from the 3rd ind rev, examining the relation between humans and the tech, and aiming to fundamentally change how we live and work.

$LINK is trying to take over the the world of digital agreements (dominant form of agreements today) by providing definitive truth so that the counter party risk is effectively gone so resources can be properly allocated to actual growth/ use.

So much of the infrastructure today is based on 3rd parties. If there can be definitive truth, the counter party risk and the need for 3rd party fades away (banks, insurance, etc). Frees up resources to be allocated to actual growth and prevent stagnation.

If definitive truth is available at the smallest level and can effectively be utilized as building blocks, having an ecosystem of people building on top creates a compounding network effect that we saw in parallel with the internet growth.

So if you are able to provide definitive truth mass scale, you can effectively dissipate counter party risk. Frees up resources/time on a societal level to actually allocate resources to achieving "utopia." (not literally but figuratively)

You can have the proper foundation and the proper building blocks (think of the building blocks of internet) to fulfill the optimistic aspects of humanity. "9 -5" changes, business structures changes, human endeavor goes from time oriented work to creativity based work.

Sergey talks of definitive truth allowing for a true human renaissance age. This is what he means, have definitive truth, it frees up time for society to focus on true human endeavors to truly understand and enjoy the human experience.

Aka #Chainlink is literally taking the #4IR literally.
#Chainlink is selling definitive truth made from 3rd ind rev technologies.
Definitive truth fundamentally changes how we agree.
Change how we agree, change how we behave.
Change how we behave, change society

Taking tech from 3rd ind rev, applying scientific analysis to fundamentally change how we live/ work, +/- cyber-physical
