In 3x04, when Silver & James are in the cage & James wonders if he should "let this be the end of Captain Flint," refrains from A Nation of Thieves play like a siren song. He& #39;s TIRED, misses Miranda, & is thinking about giving up. He can& #39;t see yet that he& #39;s "not alone."

In 3x05, this turns to essentially contemplating suicide via attacking the Queen with a knife. Silver gently tries to argue him out of it & places faith in him. James listens.

& THEN, when Ben discovers the knife left behind: A Nation of a Thieves is recontextualized to Silver.

When James & Silver reunite, it PLAYS AGAIN, matched to Silver more strongly now.

The music says Silver is now his partner/love. & James says, “Thank you, for opening that door,” a callback to Miranda trying to a open “the door” to peace for him.
