In 3x05, this turns to essentially contemplating suicide via attacking the Queen with a knife. Silver gently tries to argue him out of it & places faith in him. James listens.
& THEN, when Ben discovers the knife left behind: A Nation of a Thieves is recontextualized to Silver.
