When people say 'we need more women in power', and you counter them with we need competent people, it sounds foolish to me. I don't know.

When you now go ahead to list corrupt women, it sounds more foolish because for every 1 corrupt woman, we can mention 10 corrupt men.

We need more women in power, because obviously, there are not enough women in power. And if we are electing women in power, obviously let's elect competent ones.
